FF15 E3 Hands on Previews

anyways, the previews above note several aspects that might be potential troublesome.

Yea, particularly the polish. They need to delay it if they feel they can't release a polished product by Sept 30 regardless of the backlash for another delay.

I think Tabata was very honest when he kind of ironically said said that he would have preferred the November release when talking with Sakaguchi.

I'm ok with dialing my expectations back a bit. It's probably healthy that I do so. I still think I'll enjoy this game very much. Impressions seem pretty positive overall so far.

Surprised. Anything I've seen on this game since that last demo...and including the demo, had left me feeling like it was nothing but a mess.

Sounds like framerate is still suspect, but overall decent impressions. Excited to see the final product...come on Square, I bet big on you...

Maybe Tabata is purposefully trying to make fan expectations insanely low at every showing so he can blow people away when it releases.

These impressions are a stark contrast to the immense negativity that even I share towards both showings at E3.

Tabata is a mastermind with a masterplan.

I'd really prefer a delay actually if it would make a significant difference in quality.

I liked the Gamespot video
They really should have showed something like this at MS and not that boring Titan fight

This game will definitely be launched with some minor problems and bugs. It happens with all the open world games, even the ones that don't had a lot of production problems and delays like this one.

I will still play it at launch and then wait for a Neo patch later down the line. The Witcher 3 launched with a shit load of issues as well and took a lot of patches to get fixed.

I don't get the western game enthusiast press. They shit all over FF13 for being a corridor simulator and here we have Destructoid concerned about FF15's open world game design because they don't want the game to feel like a slog after 25 hours of play time?

What the fuck was Skyrim like after 25 hours of play time?

Jesus fuck.
Skyrim is a Western game from Bethesda, they give them a pass. No, they rate their games high enough. Even with all the shit ton of bugs the game has. On the other hand this is a Japanese game, it will get nitpicked here and there.

Cool impressions but I remain skeptical. Every time I've actually gotten my hands on FFXV I haven't liked it all that much.

I want to like it so bad, but I just haven't found the connection yet. Some things look awesomr, but there are more things I dislike.

Impressions sound positive so far. Shame to see that they weren't able to recapture these moments at E3.

The press played just two hours of the demo and the fake leak earlier also talked about just two hours being playable. I guess we found out the source of leak now :P

It really sounds like he just got early info or hands on demo leaks and made a bunch of fake information off of it.

On the other hand, Skyrim came out almost 5 years ago. XIII, coming up on 7.

Lots of open-world games have come and gone since.

I'm not worried about it either way. If the open world stuff is boring, I'll just set the car to auto-pilot and tunnel through the main story.

As long as it's not a train wreck, I'd be content.

Didn't Kagari said there will be a PS4 Bundle? Was pretty sure we'd have gotten it during the Sony Conference. Fingers crossed it's a neo bundle hence the absence.

I just want the feeling of FFX when I play this. To have an incredibly engaging story and characters I love. XII was a fantastic game as well, but the story took too long to really get off the ground and several of the cast weren't too interesting for me.

Tabata looks even worse than before. He really needs to get some sleep.

Also, the game got the downgrade hammer on it pretty hard.

Since Uncovered I got a little nervous about the game again but I have to say everything I've seen of the game today looks great.

I guess more than anything I believe in the direction of this game. I just hope Tabata can get it done in time.

It's too bad this is getting buried. Too many people will have only seen the MS demo which Tabata even threw under the bus today.

Dunno what they were thinking showing that. Even the full Afrojack trailer is loads better. Also unsure why the cut the trailer in half when they showed it at Sony.

Haven't played a Final Fantasy game since FFVII ( late 90's )... I was actually looking forward to this game until I saw that boss fight..

New stream with Tabata going on right now!

He said the E3 booths have an upgraded console build versus what was shown at MS conference yesterday.

Okay this is giving me some hope.
Just watched the part we talks about high-level play with evading and countering using warp with the gameplay video.
I'm willing to learn how to finesse the combat in this game, that could be extremely satisfying.

Yeah.

The Gamespot gameplay video (with interview) above for example showed more of the kind of mix of footage I'd like to see for videos of the game.

The presentation is helping a bit too.

The closer it gets to release the less likely we'll be getting one in the West at least.

Impressions from Easy Allies were not good, apparently.

I wonder what the "Final Fantasy XV Universe" from their e3 schedule entails.

This and Tabata's stage presentation today were more exciting than either the Microsoft Titan fight demo or the Sony presser trailer. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the full Titan summon from Tabata's stage presentation -- THAT was impressive to me. You can really see the scale of the summon and the environment.

The last couple XV trailers have just tried to cram so much into two minutes. VR? why distract us with that? I feel that they can present the game much better when they can do it slowly and take their tame.

Someone needs to gif that Titan sequence.

A World of the Versus Epic!
They've been using "Final Fantasy XV Universe" to describe the other FFXV projects: Kingsglaive movie, Brotherhood anime, Justice Monsters V phone game, etc.

Shoutouts to everyone who has managed to stay positive amidst this week's series of events. I really enjoyed Duscae and the PT Demo so the terribly planned E3 live demonstration hasn't halted my excitement for this game at all.

I've kept any hype in check due to 10 years of waiting and poor expectations after the 13 trilogy.

Ohhh, guess I should keep my expectations in check than.

My hype just came back. E3 booth plays look way way better than everything before that.

Will buy the game for Cidney VR.

I think it says a lot about the mindset of Tabata & SE marketing that the full Titan footage is bonus content at the end of a presentation, rather than something they should put up front. Instead, they greenlighted dubstep and VR for the trailer. Maybe a hazard of being too close to the project.
