Known about this event for a bit, but haven't posted any info yet. April 28-29 is the Nico Nico Chou Kaigi (Nico Nico Super Conference). Within that event is Chou Tougeki (Super Tougeki), a special qualifier for Tougeki 2012. The winners for their respective games earn a spot in the finals bracket for Tougeki 2012, totally skipping the qualifier rounds. The interesting thing is that the AE qualifier will not only be singles (winner gets to pick two teammates), but is also double-elimination.

There also will be a concept match event for AE, featuring 8 star players. Five have been announced so far: Haitani, Fuudo, MDR, Mago and Tokido.

Chou Tougeki (Super Tougeki) "Tougeki 2012 Special Qualifier" (JP)

April 28
Street Fighter III: Third Strike
Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Ver.2012 (Singles, Double Elimination)
Virtua Fighter5 Final Showdown

There will also be a tourney for Touhou Hisou Tensoku that day.

April 29
Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited
Aquapazza

No qualifiers for the console titles (SCV, UMvC3).

April 29 at 3:30PM JST (2:30AM EDT): SSFIV AE Concept Match
Haitani, Fuudo, MDR, Mago, Tokido and 3 others yet to be announced.

No it'll be on my channel. Level Up is providing setups for the event. Box Arena will be running the brackets and I'll be doing all the stream stuff since I'm from Norwalk.

Best threads.

There's also a tournament for some games in Montreal on Saturday. Unsure of a stream though.

Oh man, I love USD threads.

IPW is doing a Nor-Cal invitational for UMvC3 and KOFXIII. They're asking people to vote for people in Nor-Cal to compete in these games.

http://iplaywinner.com/news/2012/4/...vc3-kofxiii-invitational-tournament-pres.html

IPlayWinner said:
This month is Southtown Arcade's 1 year anniversary and to celebrate we're putting together a very special invitational tournament for THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIII and ULTIMATE MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3. Both will be an 8-man double elimination tournament with a $250 pot bonus for each game!

Four players for each game have been pre-selected to compete in this tournament but the other four will be decided by you! That's right, we're opening up a community vote to determine the remaining spots! We will be tallying up votes over the next week and I will announce the results of said vote come next week live on IPW TV.

Voting ends April 17th, and takes place Sunday, April 22nd.

I'm assuming this is the best place to post this. I don't know who to vote for. D:

EDIT: Oh. I'm slow and missed your post. OH WELL.

I don't see the problem, lol. He is there to stream a SC5 specific event. If there was no event, he wouldn't be there to stream, and nothing to be "sad" about.

Let me say the same about MK on a spooky stream.

I don't play or like every single fighting game but I don't see that as a hindrance to supporting fighting game streams, especially for games that need it.

PowerUp, Fight For Youth and Stunfest on the same weekend.

I am hoping for some hype action, last few weeks have been weak in terms of legit fight game hype.

Is Zak Bennet going to Stunfest? Will be rooting for him.

Hey, USD, do you know if there's a general NeoGAF-FGC IRC channel?

If there isn't, what do you guys think about setting one up?

I wonder who will stream Big 2 if Spooky is at Vegas. Maybe Min or Henry Cen?
Speaking of which, I wonder if they'll have a Skullgirls tourney since it's out this week.

smurfx

get some go again
don't forget to watch friday night fraud search people. they need way more viewers considering how many good players show up there on a consistent basis. players like llnd, tapebot, airtola and royal flush.

I wonder if any Japanese are going to Stunfest. There hasn't been any announcements so maybe not? They've made a habit of attending big French tournaments, but maybe they're going to skip this one.

There is an IRC, I don't remember what it is though. Popped in during the GAF blackout and last I checked it was full of SF-GAF, banned GAF, and Hates-Every-Other-Game-SF-GAF.

Are you talking about this one?

http://wbe01.mibbit.com/?server=irc.globalgamers.net&channel=#gafranbats

Yeah, it's mainly SF-GAF. Started with when SF4 was the only new hot stuff out there. SFxT got a lot of talk when it came out. There is Marvel talk, but not much from what I've seen. I don't get in there as much as I want so I should get in there more often. But I think it's fine to use it as if it were FGC-GAF. The more the merrier.
