Week of July 29th to August 4th, 2013.

Fighting Games Weekly is the weekly discussion thread for all things fighting games. News, events, streams, videos, players, drama, everything fighting game related.

Don't know what to watch right now? Check the FGCPros Twitch Group or Jaxel's Stream Viewer. If you want to watch multiple streams at once, you can use Jaxel's customizable multiviewer as well.

New to FGC-GAF is the FGC-GAF Index which lists the fighting games GAFers plays as a neat reference with some rough statistics to boot. To add yourself to the index, quote this post and use the survey link below. Please remember to save/bookmark the "Edit your response" link so you can edit your responses if/when you buy a game already on the list or a new game that releases in the future.

If you have any suggestions for the OP, please do not hesitate to post in this thread or PM me to let me know.

ehhh I'm not liking those Marvel patch changes. A bit of them sound good, some of it is kinda "what the fuck?" and the rest is "meh, won't change much".

Gootecks trying to explain frame data while trying to speak very slowly to make the conversation last longer and not look down was great

The next week of Marvel OT patch discussion is open season. The full notes are contained in the second and third posts of the Marvel OT4. Feel free to bring up any concerns/ideas in the thread. Next weekend we will vote to cement everything.

You can comment freely in the OT and post concerns/"what the fuck" stuff.

Also note that this is still a WIP and a rough draft. Even I don't agree with some of ths stuff in it especiallt the system mechanics. The character changes are more interesting though (except Raging Demon change, that's like an inside joke now).

Usually to busy to follow up exactly on whats going on. If its a rough draft then I'll wait till the near final version for my final opinion.

Another thing is, I would have to actually mess with a version of the game to see what can be abused or how much it changes the game. Which is impossible.

The hate Markman is getting on Eventhubs is pretty crazy. I don't get it.

Think much more people agree with him that collusion is terrible and something needs to be done, But yeah telling players what character they must use and how they can't have fun in the finals is something that's not very practical. Think this sums up really about what Markman can do over collusion:

-"We refuse to support tournaments that don't police collusion"
-"you guys won’t sponsor VxG next year?"
-"We will."

Better to give opinions now than after it's finalized IMO. We constantly miss stuff and its always good to have some fresh perspective.

You can't do anything about collusion in the end. But you can at least do enough to make players care about not making it obvious.

The whole "Well if y ou're not gonna support tourneys that police collusion, why are you supporting VxG again next year?" argument is so dumb that I shouldn't even have to explain.
