yeah i saw it, looks like a nice setup. it's only useful in certain situations obviously, like throw to tap, since you need to be both point blank and also still have charge. and i dunno if it'd really be worth doing against ryu dp all the time, ex dp probably wins and regular dp probably falls out pretty quickly (which presumably is why he so quickly restarts the setup after the first ryu dp example). and it loses to throws, and to non-reversal uppercuts.

so yeah it's good. but i don't think this, and proxios in general, are game breaking in terms of balance. they're tough to do, require lots of knowledge, and take excellent timing and spacing to make effective.

and the meaty ones pretty much just make wakeups a worse idea than they are. that's totally fine with me! that was the whole reason i started working on sf4 style option selects in 2009, that i felt there were too many escapes on wakeup in sf4. option selects have helped us cut that back, and this cuts it back further. cool with me!

as far as use in footsies, it can be baited, requires good spacing and timing like good footsies already do anyway, and again requires lots of knowledge and technical ability.

so i'm mostly cool with it. the only problem is that it makes people who want to play at a very high level learn a lot more tech. sure that sucks, but within high level play i think it's fine.

with how much time and eyeballs and knowledge sharing and body of knowledge from previous games and players we have today, imo to be honest any game we take seriously for 5 years will have its programming torn apart and abused. sf4 is just the first example of that.

Yeah, I more or less agree. It's probably going to be an interesting tool to pull out once and awhile but the applications seem to be situational and the requirements to do it high. It'll be cool if someone finds really strong applications that shake up matches some.

jiyuna got banned for streaming porn. Justified, IMO.
The material he was streaming at the time was risque, but not pornographic. He was getting under the skin of a couple of Twitch employees, which is why I think the reaction was so severe. Bigger streamers have streamed much more explicit stuff and at worst, got temp banned -- but it's OK, because they play League of Legends.

I really wish we had a fully functional "ignore" feature on GAF. :(

Story wise Dizzy is apparently still in deep sleep mode so I wouldn't get my hopes up too much.
Other characters died and were brought back - I don't think it matters. Dizzy is pretty iconic for the series. She has one of the most interesting designs I have seen in a fighting game. I never tired of seeing her wings bicker. That said, if she's not in the game, I'll probably just play Testament or Eddie. Eddie is a badass, but he's not entirely my style. Testament is my style, but his femme stature creeps me out slightly.

THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CANON

Obviously there's always a way but hey at least expectations are in check. I wouldn't be surprised that they would build a loophole they could exploit to put her in there or reserve her for the eventual Reload+ version.

Yeah she is as good as dead canonwise dor now. Thank god too her character design was terrible.

Not a fan of subtle man parts designs in costumes ?

She'll probably be in it, Ky and Dr.Paradigm were working on getting her out at the end of GG2

are people trying to suggest that plot elements in a fighting game will have an impact on a character's inclusion?

come on, guys.

Nu from BBCS! ;)
Though no one has really died in BB
Well there you go then!

Guilty Gear is one game I would actually like a robust story mode for. Something that can bring me up to speed on all the major events from the first game to now. I remember almost nothing. No BlazBlue alternate history crap, though! :-P

I'm not going to lie, I was really hype for the SC2 re-release... and then it all disappeared due to how bad the port is. How the hell do they screw up the online functionality that bad, given what they did with SC5/TTT2/TRevo??? Holy crap. I was prepared to throw $20 at them at the speed of light and now I would rather eat the money than give them anything. Yuck. Back to playing Aquapazza and BBCP (and trying to not get banned from Twitch).

Yep, Namco is now Sub-Capcom tier in my eyes. That SC2 port was completely unacceptable for $20. Waste of money- I just wanted to play Mina in good online, and didn't even get that.

Only two games I care about coming up now are Ultimax and Love Max, and if I can't get into either of them, I'll just stick to Skullgirls. (Skullgirls got me to stop playing VF)

Jiyuna bitched at every opportunity he could get that he got banned. Not shocking that his next account got banned.

Bazza of VGCW also got banned for showing an NSFW gif, but he got it sorted out and got his account back because he didn't act like a cunt.

Serious question: what did Jiyuna ever do besides stream NSFW shit to get known? I've never heard of him before he got banned.

He streamed a lot of P4U match videos before the console version released and gave match analysis to explain what was going on for people who couldn't play the game yet (aka everyone not in Japan). I think that's what got his stream popular in the first place. At least, that's how I heard of him streaming.

The difference there is that Jiyuna was complaining about Twitch before he got banned. I doubt that if he apologized and begged for his account back that they would have been willing to work with him.

He was streaming a lot of P4A stuff when the game first came out, and he was peaking at around 400-500 viewers. Before that (and before he moved to Japan), he was mainly playing Melty Blood, and was known for some absolutely nutty stuff (both in game and out of it).
