Shit id buy a Marlinpie Brokentier thsirt TODAY

I wanted one of the I Heart AG tshirts so bad.
It'd be cool if it was a stylized EX Seismo logo just in the centre.

No, Jaxel asked if it was amicable and marlin was like "Ehhhhhh" and Jaxel was like "So no then?" and marlin nodded.
Damn :(

I'm sure he's going to get offers son though. He's a pretty notable player, even if his performance is usually inconsistent, everybody wants to see him play.

Did he say why?

JOIN THE MINIONS ON GAF, MARLINPIE

He was streaming a laboratory stream a few weeks ago and quotes mentioned that the founder of AG posted on FB that he was leaving AG. Marlinpie didn't even know, and then quotes showed him the post and I guess that's why.

I suppose I don't consider a week a "vacation". That's more like "taking a work break". You don't even feel refreshed with a week off, you know? A vacation to me means at least 2 weeks, but ideally a month.

How many people get yearly vacations? Besides public school teachers, that is.

uhh... yeah, I'm taking 3 days off man. Based on your logic of vacation (2 weeks at least?!) I haven't taken a vacation in the last 5 years. lol.

But that's you.

To me. This is a vacation. :D

Someone has to make shit happen.

For a large swath of the country, if you work for a company for a year, full-time, you almost always get at least a week of vacation. Sometimes even part-timers are allowed a week or two off so long as they ask ahead of time. They might not get vacation pay for it, but I'm pretty sure that even your average McDonalds/Wal-Mart employee, if they make it a year, are entitled to a week of vacation with pay. I could be wrong, but it's been my experience that getting vacation isn't a rare thing for a lot of full-time employees in America.

That's not to say that work conditions in this country couldn't use a shit-ton of improvement, but Vacation certainly isn't a luxury that only the upper-middle class and above can afford.

Now, everyone in the country getting a whole month of work off? That's kinda nuts. And I can't think of too many places here where that's actually a thing, unless of course you've built up tenure at your place of work longer than, say, 10 years.

I've found the more likely you are to work for somebody with flexibility, the less likely you will actually be able to take any extensive holidays because of work commitments. Kind of a catch 44 situation.

Everyone in Australia gets at least two weeks by law and pretty much everybody will have an extra week or so at Christmas. Still, I haven't had a proper vacation since 2005 :|

Man, if it was legally mandated I was to get two weeks vacation, you can be damned sure I'd take those two weeks. I might work with management to ensure my two weeks are most convenient for them, but I'm taking those two weeks.

In my personal experience - whenever I've had vacation time accrued, the managers are usually on me to tell them WHEN I'm going to take it, because they have to balance the schedules, and the faster they can do that, the better.

Very true, but that doesn't help when you are the manager ;) Most places will force you to take leave when you accrue up around a month.

It's bullshit that everybody doesn't at least get a month off work. It seems most of the civilized world gets it, why us the greatest country in the whole wide universe? I just recently hit my 2nd year, so I get 2 weeks off now. It'll take 8 years to reach week 3 and 17 years to reach week 4. On top of that I don't get the holidays off(not a whole week, just a single day). So I can't plan anything around them. Where I'm at I'm a little worse off than most others I assume. But point is we should get more time off, not necessarily to go anywhere, just to relax. I might take one trip a year, the rest of my vacation is just used for kicking back and knowing that I don't have to go to work the next day like I normally would. I really do envy our European neighbors who get killer vacation times on top of their holidays.

It is very industry dependent though. I've always thought if somebody can afford to be away for a whole month, they can't be particularly valuable to the company. If you don't need to be there, then they can easily find somebody else to do the job, hence lower competition and working conditions... No doubt things are better in other countries though I imagine. Got to be careful who you vote for ;)

Man, if a week isn't long enough to be considered a "vacation," then I've never had one in my adult life and won't as long as I keep spending individual days on these freakin' video game tournaments.

I'm with you, man.

The mindset seems to be "Hey, you might be inclined to stick with our company, and maybe give a shit about the work you do, if you're happy here, if you know you're getting 3 weeks off every year, and you know we're not gonna yank your job out from under you because you got sick for a couple days and couldn't make it in."

It seems to be two different atmospheres, one that says "We decided we're going to trust you to do the job we hired you to do, and we're going to treat you accordingly" vs. "We're going to hire you to do this job, but you're basically going to keep trying out for your job for as long as you're here, and the instant it looks like we can get this work done cheaper, you're out."

All this talk of work reminds me of that Mitt Romney song from SNL.

Poor people hate having jobs...
Poor people hate having jobs...
If there's one thing that poor people hate more than condoms...
It's waking up and going to a job.
