Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (iOS/Android) first trailer

I've been hyping this since last year, and was getting afraid it got canceled after barely any press since. Glad to see it's on its way!

Square, could you maybe try pacing yourselves with the number of use-past-FF-characters-as-party-members games that you're making? You already got Record Keeper & WoFF & now this?

This is the Final Fantasy version of Brave Frontier as far as I can tell and their pre-release sign-up is giving out a Brave Frontier item as well, lol.

Give BF a shot if you want an idea of how this will play.

This will come to NA right after FF Agito.

lol

Pre-registration is up? Going to do so later then. :D The whole appeal of this game for me is that it's Brave Frontier with FF characters. I had a hard time caring about the Brave Frontier characters since they're more or less just a bunch of randoms, but at least FF has the nostalgia thing going for them. :P

Was that Nine from Type-O? :o

Aren't those three (Rain, Lasswell, Fina) original characters? There are characters from past titles in some of the battles though. Granted, guest appearances are pretty common nowadays.

Incidentally, that's a lot of Amano. Haven't seen him do so many illustrations for one game in a while.

Spritework looks really good. Dare I say it, it looks phenomenal to that RPG Maker visual style 2D FF games got on mobile.

I am concerned about the game mechanics and their potentiality being structured for whales.

It has all the Gacha elements... as far as currencies, player rank and UI goes.

And there goes all my care and desire for the game.

This looks kind of neat. Are we ever getting that Mobious game? Think this will come to the US based off that?

My 6S Plus is so going to be ready for this, if it even gets localized within a year.

Hope it's a premium game.

It looks like Brave Frontier: Final Fantasy edition. Not too exciting tbh, those gacha games that basically play themselves get old really quick for me :(

Looks good.

I don't understand why iOS doesn't have plenty of great RPGs. It's the perfect platform for them. Maybe it does and I don't know them.

The graphics are gorgeous(both sprites and backgrounds). Damn, I wish this game wasn't the game that it is. The art(both Amano, CG and in-game) is something of a dream I had seeing for a "return to 2D sprite" form. Dammit Square, why you make me feel this way?!

This actually looks good. I would be lying if I said I wasnt interested.

I wish they fixed the orientation of the screen though.

Brave Frontier is a complete bore to play (and I don't mind F2P game mechanics, I'm talking about the core gameplay here) so not too excited about this one.

This game actually looks to have a "bit" more depth than Brave Frontier so it might not be the best represenation. Besides the obvious like the overworld vs Brave Frontier's dungeon map selection, in battle the characters have multiple abilities and spells they can learn, equip, and then use in battle which uses different amounts of MP.

Battle system looks almost identical to Brave Frontier. IVs been playing a lot of BF so I don't mind. Looking forward to this!

Played the beta for a few hours and didn't like it that much.
Maybe because I wasn't a huge fan of Brave Frontier gameplay in the first place.

You can actually walk around town and in dungeons after you clear it (for bonus chests), so I'll give them that.

What's Gacha? Does it have to do with Record Keeper? Cause I just got a phone that can actually do something and downloaded Record Keeper...and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Gacha stands for Gachapon, which are vending machines in Japan. In this game and others similar to this like Brave Frontier, Dragon Ace, Puzzles and Dragons, One Piece Treasure Cruise, Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, etc..., you use in game currency to use the game's "vending machine" (or other visual representation) that gives you the characters you play in the game. Usually in these games the characters you get are random, which gives the games a gambling aspect since you don't know what character you are going to get and players end up spending lots of in game currency to get the characters they want.

So probably like Final Fantasy Legends: Toki no Suisho. That one looks ugly but plays awesome for a mobile game. That one feels like a legit final fantasy game just with a gacha lol.

I have no interest in playing this game, but that's some sweet 2D graphics. I wish Square Enix would make a proper JRPG with that look.

The game looks ridiculously good, like a less visually janky FF Dimensions. Now if they only make it much less janky gameplay-wise as well, we're golden.

How many of those enemy sprites are ripped from previous final fantasies? I know the Gigas was taken from FF6.

... no?

Unless you don't understand what "ripped" means, of course.
