No chance I'd expect any remake to look like this. The buget to recreate the entire game, the world map and the dozens of towns, cities and other locations in this quality would be too much.

If there is a remake, this is kinda how I'd want it done. FFIX had a certain charm and art style that must be preserved. It can't look photorealistic, it needs to look a little bit cartoony. And how they decided to do the camera view is a style I like.
Still don't like how everyone's just skipping over FFVIII though, still think that would be greatly aided by a remake.

This looks amazing. But, I fear it's only going to make us sad when we see the actual remake is closer to the FFVIII remaster than it is to anything like this.

I also wonder about the not-so-subtle timing of this, with all these game shows coming up starting tomorrow and heavy rumblings of an actual FFIX remake. Maybe they know something we don't.

Looks unbelievably good. This is the kind of remake the game deserves. It's not finished or polished to hell and back but I would pay 70 in a heartbeat if this is what was shown.

Like. . .I hate to poop on what is clearly a well done passion project, but I felt the same thing. Like this looks to try to RECREATE the cinematic quality of the game and use that as the ingame work. . .when the cinematics looked incredibly dated and far too plastic even at release what 20 or so years ago.
. . .that said, this is better than the usual garbage we get from the UE5 threads and looks like actual effort was put into this recreation.
