Final Fantasy Type-0 (Agito) Direct Feed Trailer Live

Wouldn't that be something...

I hope nothing bad happens to a PSN release because it's two UMDs.

The game itself is gorgeous and looks to be quite serious compared to other recent Final Fantasy titles. I'm looking forward to it.

You wonder how this is going to affect sales though. Shift them to DD? (Since you can then play them on the NGP?. I know I started doing that about a year ago when the first rumors surfaced)

This looks....awesome!

You know that dude that just beats shit up with his fists has GOT to be a badass.

The game looks totally awesome.

The YouTube video interestingly also goes up to 1080p.

The PSP2 has backwards compatibility. They could even modify the game to use the second analog stick if they wanted.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Will it shift sales from UMD to Digital Download in Japan? The latter hasn't been too popular there apparently, but since that way offers BC and UMD doesn't, maybe it will start to be?

Fuck...

That was awesome!

Today has made me feel like a kid again... PSP2, Versus, this...

Even if they don't meet the expectations I have now, I'm glad I got to feel that old spark again for a little bit.

I love how dark this game's story is. Feel like I'm watching the war that happens before the start of FFVI.

Is this by the Crisis Core team?

omg you're right. if psp2 screen is anything like my Galaxy S screen, it will look really awesome playing this game on psp2.

Here are all the characters I've identified so far from this and the previous trailer, including their weapon types:

Ace (Cards, male)
Trey (Bow, male)
Cinque (Mace, female)
Seven (Whip, female)
Eight (Monk, male)
Nine (Lance, male)
Jack (Katana, male)
Queen (Broadsword, female)

Rem (Dual Daggers, female)
Machina (Dual Stunrods?, male)

We're missing four names for the 12-man team, but I'm guessing Duo and Quatro will probably be two of them at least. The missing weapon types are halberd (female), pistol (female), dual handguns (male), and flute (female).

Those in-engine cut scenes look so good.

Already hating the fact this game is going to sell poorly despite being the most compelling FF in years. Hopefully it is so great that word of mouth will propel it to 1 billion copies.

After playing both BbS and T3B, I have to wonder if those cutscenes are even in-engine at all. They look way better than the BbS cutscenes (which are actually realtime in-engine complete with loading), but they look about on par with T3B's cutscenes.... which are not in-engine at all. Instead they're all pre-recorded cutscenes using what would be "in-engine" for say... a PS3. The amount of anti-aliasing, detailed animation, higher poly models, and effects/filters in the scenes suggest something that is simply impossible on the PSP.

Oh, I was already thinking they were pre-recorded but didn't know they did that with T3B. It looks too good to be "true".

Aya's cutscene hand model and her fingers in T3B have more polys and detail than Lightning's hand in actual realtime cutscenes in FFXIII. Food for thought.

Btw, did anyone else notice that the trailer is also plagued by the awful typos that have been in many S-E games and trailers/screens lately?

Rem = Remm
Machina = Machine
Shiva = Siva

Pretty terrible oversights! Especially since in the direct-feed screen, and in the image illustration in the magazines, they have Rem and Machina spelled correctly...

For illustration, compare the name spelling errors in the two pics here:

As I said in Versus thread - I hope this gets twin analog support for NGP.

That will depend on whether this game is hitting PSN at all in the first place. It's a 2 UMD title, and there are slight issues with compatibility of that with how they handle PSN releases right now.

Okay. watching the trailer this game is amazing. complete package. will double dip if there's also a PSN version. because there's blood in the CG lol.
EDIT: there's blood everywhere. yay!

Couldn't they have decided to just change the names?
Well, they released a magazine article a few days ago with a different spelling, so unless they changed them a few hours ago, these are typos.

It's not just the huge blood sprays when you attack enemies either. Even when they DIE, it looks really brutal and violent:

i hope US version doesn't get this removed or change it's color to purple or sparkles.

Aren't they doing this for their western fans in the first place, games intended for Japanese market are usually blood free, see Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for example.

the game is supposed to portray brutal war, they are doing a nice job really.
