I always found being able to circumnavigate the whole world in a couple of seconds just made it feel small. Finishing FFXII I felt like there was still new lands out there undiscovered.

Nojima and Nomura are working on Versus XIII's script, so...

Wish it was just Nojima. Favorite writer in the industry. Nomura's input is fine sometimes but Nojima really shines when alone.

In FF, you either have a world map or you don't... so it's going to basically be like FFX, X-2 or XIII.

This isn't very welcoming news, imo. This makes me think it will be more linear than originally planned.

Who cares if Noctis looks small running around on a map? Seriously? Why is having a world map such a bad thing, argh.

You're getting ahead of yourself. I have a feeling this is just a change in scale. Going from FF1-9 style world map to something more life-like, similar to FFXII or DQ8.

Moreover, he's changing it not because of some issues with HD development, but because having a giant Noctis running around a miniature world looks stupid in this day and age. Or perhaps it just doesn't fit well with the more realistic tone Versus is going for.

At any rate, as long as Nomura is smart enough not to make the story the focal point of a video game, and puts a healthy amount of "game" in here, that would make up for that turd called FFXIII. It's the KH team, so I'm not expecting to be enthralled by the story or dialogue, but I'll hope for the best.

So far the visual design for this game is absolutely stunning, and the music is bound to be top notch. That was enough for KH2, and it should be enough for Versus.

They will stick the latest one hit wonder on the game before it retails in Japan. What's the difference? As long as it's not in the middle of the game, it's just a lure for casual people.
