"Please buy our old stuff forever. Oh god. Just..."

I'm okay with just Vita version. I can't imagine any improvement would be that profound.

Also where is my FFXII remaster Square? It's inevitable given how much they like to rerelease their stuff.

Good for people that haven't already bought it I guess. I'm good with the PS3 version though.

Every Final Fantasy is going to be on Steam eventually isn't it?
Nintendo should do this with some of their games. But, sadly, even their digital price for PC ports will probably never go down.

Edit: SE was my all-time favorite company and now I just loathe them...

I'll most likely be tripple-dipping, too...

Square will probably go crazy with the remasters and re-releases in 2015 because their 2 biggest guns are still a little bit off. I've said before I wouldn't be surprised if FFXV makes it out by the end of 2015 ... in japan but when I say that I'm implying that it might be out the last week of december at the earliest- a release date similar to FFXIII way back in 2009.

To that end, I suspect Squaresofts lineup of games for all of next year , keeping in mind an international release schedule will go as follows -

Spring- FFXIV: A realm reborn : Heavensward , Final Fantasy Type-0 HD with ffxv demo, Final Fantasy 7 HD for PS4 (digital only), FFX/X-2 HD for PS4 (have a way to send my save file to my ps4 from my ps3 and I might just bite)
Summer- Final Fantasy 8 HD for PS4(this will be the upscaled PC edition on console)
Fall- Final Fantasy XIII : Lightning collection (contains XIII,XIII-2,LR) for PS4 (they've ported them to PC and seem to be adding 1080p at least so it'd be easy to port them to ps4)
Winter- FFXV (japan only) , Kingdom hearts 1 + 2 for ps4(possibly with all the same extras as both standalone ps3 versions but it would be full priced)

Generic 2015 - Bravely Default 2 , dragon quest warriors

Wishful thinking - Dragon Quest 7 3DS in english , Dragon Quest X in english for PC at least.

Why not both? They won't do XII on PS4 without releasing X/X-2 on it first.
Maybe this is a test like VII HD. The better XV does, the better chance we get it. Everyone buy the re-remaster of X/X-2 and maybe we'll get XII !

I... I'd buy this (never got FFX remastered for PS3 and didn't end up buying a Vita).

Just do FF12 and we're good SE, even though you assholes are the biggest trolls out of any developer right now.

Holy crap, I never thought about a VIII re-release, I'd be up for that, seeing as its one of the only one's I've not played yet

I feel bad for wanting to do so because I don't want to encourage Square but yeah, I'd be up for that.

I'm weak :(

KH 1 + 2 pack as well, yeah?

Dude, I'm scared to play any Final Fantasy game now. Still a FF newbie. Haven't beat a single one. Have tried 13 and 9, couldn't get into them. Maybe I need to spend more time with 9.

But seriously, I'm afraid to try another one because they'll just rerelease it on PS4...
I think 13 and 9 are the two worst ones. X is the best. Don't spend more time with 9. Play 4, 6, 7, or X.

You're kidding right? IX is one of my favourites, the characters in that game were nothing short of amazing.

Then again, I guess the more cartoony style wont appeal to everyone.

9 was the least fun to me purely because of the gameplay. Loading time, slow animations, incredibly easy, and high encounter rate. Bad combination. The story was okay. I liked Vivi and Steiner, but didn't really care too much for the rest.

Jump on X-2. Seriously. Fantastic battle and skill systems, awesome OST that's to this day unlike any other SE soundtrack, and the best battle quotes around.

If you just have fun with it and don't take it so seriously coming off the drama of FFX, you might really love it. I know I do.
Sounds like a good deal, then. I'll definitely download it next time I have access to my Vita.

9's gameplay is indeed awful and it badly needs to be adjusted, which is why a nice versions like of those of FFVII and VIII on PC is needed.

But the world ,the characters, and music are some of the best!

6, 9, 12, and 10 are probably the best games in the series bar none, in that order. And then 7.

If they price this at 40 bucks, i'll definitely buy it once again. PS2 to PS3 to PS4...the game is that good. I guess this means i'll have to sell my PS3 version though...i guess FF13 trilogy is next? They can keep that one though, just skip it and go to KH for PS4. I'm such a damn sucker.

9's gameplay is great except it's abysmally slow. The character growth systems are all pretty inventive off a basic standard, battles are well balanced, no absurd difficulty spikes.

Except it takes like 10 minutes from when a random encounter pops to when you get to actually attack stuff aughghghg.

You know, FFVIII on PC got a fast-forward feature slapped on a few months after it appeared on Steam. Considering Bravely Default:FF also has a similar feature, those things really should be baseline for classic JRPGs, and that would completely fix FFIX's biggest problem.

Square just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FFX HD for either system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.

Square, publicly apologize and cancel FFX HD for PS4 or you can kiss your business goodbye.

If there is a way to adjust the basic speed of the battles to make it match FFVII and VIII, the game would be perfect.

I'd play the originals over remaster any day if it wasn't for god awful original interface that was much improved in the HD re-release. Yeah, it's that awful.

There is nothing that will be done, actually.

Not even 60 FPS.They won't do it.

The purpose of this port is just to make the game playable on a different platform. Not enhance it.
It was already 1080p. That leaves 8xMSAA on top of 1080p :D

Wow, I only played the HD version and like...Damn. This completely changes this moment and I'm sure many others.
Taking out the mocap really changes it :/

I have to say it. FF IX was weak. Not bad by any stretch, but after VII and VIII, it was ehhh.

It still had one of the best FF series characters in Vivi, Steiner and Freya were good too, great graphics, and probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite FF soundtrack.

FF X was return to form though. One of the best ones, and I would definitely buy a PS4 version since I skipped the PS3 remaster.
