I kind of like FFXIII's version. :D
I'm almost sure there's nothing I can say about this piece that won't result in rabid fanboy retorts... but something has to be at least suggested here.

So...Alexander is a tank...or something?

And wtf are those Chocobos? Seriously, just what the fuck. The more I see of this game the less interested I get.

While I'm still highly anticipating the game, the overall style for it is fairly weak. Definitely a mixed bag in several respects.

This might sound a little weird and possibly slightly racist but that isn't my intention at all. Does anyone think there will be any non-Asain motion capture actors? It's not a big deal, it just looks weird when a character is clearly not Asian yet they have an Asian face (thought it was weird in Advent Children as well).

Huh? Some Asians (if you actually mean Orientals) don't have the typical Asian faces. For example, Ken Hirai (popular Japanese singer):

There's also Hiroshi Abe, who looks like a clone of Hugh Laurie at times. Besides, the city where these characters come from is fictional anyway so we can't say for sure if they're meant to be Caucasians or Asians or somewhere in between.

You think everything from IX is awesome.

Perhaps in the late endgame, but if my recent play through(which included all hunts) is an indicator, offensive magic is useful throughout unless you grind(to get the best weapons) or you went after the ZP early. Melee is certainly king, but i wish people exaggerated less (of course the higher levels spells paled in comparisson to the -agas and summons were always garbage).

As for the scans, that has got to be the ugliest chocobo i have ever seen. And Alex-tank does no surprise me one bit.
Well, I mean, it's true, everything in that game is awesome.

Also, I'm just going off what I've seen in battle but it seems there is far more use to the summons here than in the previous FF. Unless, of course, they're incredibly nerfed in the real game at which point I would be wrong and thus never use them outside of aesthetic purposes.

Yeah, there are exceptions in all races that don't meet the typical facial structure and tone but that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm just saying that with all the ridiculous character designs out there, you would expect there to be some variety in the faces. I don't want to turn this into an argument about how all people of a certain race look alike, because frankly, I can't tell the difference between half of the people in my own race.

Yes it would be nice if there are more differences between two characters. But my guess is Square is going for a more style-ish approach to character design instead of realistic based. And it seems they like this halfway mixed of Asians and Caucasians look. Thus the blonde/red hair but Asian-ish face for the character.

Something about not thinking it was possible that a chocobo could look like an emaciated heroin addicted gyspy until now, mayhap?

Do not like the look of the chocobos at all.

Here's the absolute best I could do with that poster art

Would love if that were the box art, sans Wipeout HD Fury of course. The other one you made is also good. I just hope they don't make a bad box art. Luckily for FFXII, there was a very nice looking tin box.

I'm not exactly sure why but FFXIII has captivated me right from the very beginning. I've never been a huge FF fan and I've only completed a couple of them (although I've at least played most of them) all the way through. But for some reason I'm completely enthralled with this game.

Seeing the characters and setting really sparked the first interest as something about them really clicks with me. Something about them just inspires my imagination and beckons me to come play in their world for a little while. Playing the demo that came with Advent Children Complete a few months back just reinforced that and opened my eyes at how much improved the graphics and presentation are from even FFXII.

I dont really know or understand all of the summons and stuff you guys are talking about. I remember some of them from previous games but for me they arent the important part. Like any good RPG, the most compelling component is the characters and the world they inhabit. Just after that in order of importance is the gameplay. Nail these first two components (and if the final product is like the demo then Square is on the right path) and you have the making of a great game. Storytelling is the vehicle that moves the characters along in the game and although it can really enhance or detract from your game it wont lift a dull game out of the pits nor will it kill a good game.

At this point all I know is I love the characters I've seen so far and the short snippet of gameplay I experienced was pretty awesome. Square, I am ready to play your game. Even though I'm importing a Japanese copy I wont get the full experience until an English release arrives. Please make it happen soon! :D

March Nineteenth ennnoottuv

Doesn't seem so as I can't figure out what the last thing would turn into.

March 19th is a Friday anyhow.

Edit: Announcement Nov Thirteenth

from someone on the ffxiii.net forums.

I've been scratching my head over this for 20 minutes. I'm good at making anagrams, not unscrambling them :/

Read up a couple posts.
Basically it's a damn announcement of an announcement.

Yeah, I saw that just as I posted. That's like an announcement of an announcement of an announcement. You solve the puzzle to find out about an announcement on the 13th that will be announced on the 9th. This is getting beyond ridiculous.

I was going to import it, but then I realized I don't trust shipping over the holidays, plus there are other games coming out around December-February.

So do any of us know what exactly Alexander is? He looks like his usual massive castle self but I can't figure out anything in the scans.
Do we have any details of what Alexander could be? Is Alexander some sort of summon? I'm not sure because I haven't read the new info yet.

He's a big piece of shit, and he transforms into a bigger piece of shit which doesn't move. Not hard to understand! :lol
