Wow March? That's way earlier than I expected, considering it took them almost a year to bring FFXII over. What a crazy month for games for games. GOW 3 and FFXIII plus who knows what else? Awesome.

Outside of loading times and graphics(lightning, textures, etc.), will there be any real difference btw the 360 and PS3 versions?
 
My Hands isn't a bad choice.

The only thing that really bugs me is Japan got an original song and NA/EU just get some licensed track. It would have been nicer if they wrote an original for the English version as well.
 
Sega announces End of Eternity for 1/28 in Japan, S-E announces DQ6 for same date.
Gamestop has 3/9 listed for Resonance of Fate, S-E dates FFXIII for 3/9.

S-E had a massive fallout with tri-Ace confirmed! I expect EOE to not come out that day anymore in the US.

I have seen 3/16, but it was taken down. Still, it's probably true as it was very specific. And Gran Turismo looks to be 3/2 if European dates hint something but you can never tell with those. That's 3 weeks of 3 million sellers if it plays out like that.

No content difference except 1 disc versus 3-4 discs. Square has only shown the game running on the 360 briefly at E3 though, so as far as anything else, no one knows yet.

i feel that the JP song is a tradegy to music everywhere. My Hands is ok...I rather them cut this vocal crap altogether but they seem to get off on it.

11 o clock after class: Yay trailer!
Watching the trailer and seeing the guy walk out: WTF is this shit?
Watching the interview: Is this it?
Watching the guy talk in English and say Leona Lewis: *Jaw drops*
Watching the end: OMG YAY! Then... OMG NOT YAY MY FUCKING COMPS! D:
 
Looks like I'm late to the party but yea, hardcore otaku will not be pleased with the Leona Lewis song choice.

I had never heard it before the announcement and looked it up. During the entire first verse I had the largest amount of nerd rage I've probably ever experienced - but once the refrain and second verse started, it was better. I still don't think most hardcore fans will accept this. Putting a "recognizable" pop name for the theme song is a first. I suppose I would have had more respect if it was written for the game, but they just picked it arbitrarily (probably some money involved).

The orchestral tracks will be synched with Kimi Ga Iru Kara, not this song.

I was actually really looking forward to the translation of Kimi Ga Iru Kara. Apparently Sayuri isn't confident in her English. :(

Is it that big of a deal? The "original songs" in the past never really did much of anything for me in terms of how it relates to the story. Maybe in Japanese they were better, can't really say though since I don't know the language.

We're talking about one scene in an RPG that can probably take up to 60 hours to complete.

Yeah, it's REALLY bad. I seem to remember even the most hardcore of FF fans admitting to this on youtube and stuff. Funny how things change :lol

If you are a "hardcore otaku" as akakaze said, I suppose I can see why you would be upset. But not everyone who plays FF (especially in NA/EU) is, and furthermore, if you are, chances are you are smart enough to get the JP import as you understand enough of the language to play through it.

I did some looking around shes under the labels Syco and J which both operate under the Sony Music Banner. Syco has (quoting wiki)

So yes, it probably was money. I still don't think the song is bad though, cept for the first verse.

ah shit, sorry, for both versions, i mean console versions. :)

i don't think i wanna deal with a FAQ or a kanji dictionary for a FF game. it'll drive me nuts. :lol

Nah, other retailers will sell it. Gamestop will have the exclusive DLC quest and ultimate weapons though. Pre-order now!

To be fair, Japan genuinely hasn't 100% recovered from that kind of sheer national trauma, nor should they be expected to. China's hardly recovered from the Rape of Nanking. But yeah, don't think that precisely applies to Square-Enix in the theme song sense so much as in the fact that FF plots tend to deal with the repeated destruction of cities and worlds.
