Open world RPGs nowdays have more in common with MMORPGs than offline old RPGs. Comparisons are mandatory when the greatest inspiration for XII and Duscae are definitely MMORPGs.

An MMORPG has to take latency (and of a very wide margin) into account, hence an intentional lack of precision in favor of group mechanics, etc.

Comparing combat mechanics of an MMO to a single player action RPG is stupid.

I can't believe I have to spell this out.
