i've barely played type 0, but i'm sure that moogle's everything that's wrong with modern moogles. >>

at least the kingdom hearts ones keep their ''kupos'' to themselves like they're supposed to. it's a sound effect dammit, not a line to get voice acted >>
Lol! Plus they get you the most powerful weapons in the game so they're useful

ok so real quick, final fantasy xv moogle better not actually SAY moogle kupo as if it's some word. it's a weird noise dammit, hate it when modern moogles do that >>
I've seen a few people say this or maybe it was all just you, but if that's true, what the hell is a Kupo Nut!?

well, it wasn't just all me! i try to keep my moogle troubles quiet thank you very much. but enough is enough, i have to speak up

but ok in my ideal world when a moogle would say the word kupo nut it'd make some adorably weird noise (the one they use in certain FF games and kingdom hearts) that isn't literally kupo as a word plus the word nut

of course if a human would say it they'd just use kupo as a word. "kupo" being some sort of onomatopoeia

you gotta write it down somehow. ;_;

Baka Nano played a newest build at GameForce in Belgium today.

- I played a BRAND NEW FFXV build today and it was AMAZING. The game is gorgeous and I didn't encounter any glitch or bug. I WANT MORE.

- Like a brand new build you guys haven't seen yet, the game does look really good now on PS4.

- Yup! The game was amazing, they polished the game even more, it was a brand new ffxv build we haven't seen yet.

- I also saw the full skill tree, there are 6 different skill trees now: Combat, Exploration, Techniques, Teamwork, Stats & Recovery.

- Also, each character has a limit break ability we can unlock, they cost 999 AP.

- Well there are 6 sphere grids now, it's another design too. They don't look like the Gamescom spheres.

- It's big, and there are 6 different skill trees. Some abilities cost 999 AP, some cost 333 AP, it's gonna take awhile to fill.

- They fixed the invisible chair glitch in the build I played today.

Hell yeah! All of this sounds awesome.

I knew it was fishy that we were getting 20 AP increases at the beginning of the game when a lot of the abilities shown in the initial skill tree costed like 40 AP at the most.

Anybody post this yet? Damn bird thing makes the Catoblepas look kind of not so big. Sheesh. Although, maybe that's just cause it's elevated in the image.

The creature design is so amazing in this game. It is actually the most beautiful I have ever seen in a game. It's so fantastical and yet so realistic.

There's not going to be beastiary, right? They haven't mentioned anything regarding this so far. Imagine a beastiary with 3D models. O:

Moogles canonically say kupo in Japanese just about as much as cliche cat characters say 'nyan' or whatever. It's just something that... really doesn't translate well when done literally.

Ooooh i really love the new Ascension's look, fits very well with the whole royal aesthetic.

Also, this way looks more like you'll have to move into specific paths in whole sections, while in the previous one it looked way more easy to fill all the grid.

I wonder what Exploration skill tree is for.

Also, really i guess that Techniques is all about weapon abilities?

Grid looks fantastic. I hated how it looked in FF13.

Yeah and there are countless of other games/anime characters that do that. I wonder if it's a thing outside of anime/games in Japan too.

So what, nodes in the Exploration tree gives you things like a faster car or chocobo? Seems like the most pointless thing ever.
What do you mean? Regalia can go faster by upgrading the car itself with Cindy. Chocobo s will probably go faster the more you level them up, but I'm not sure about this.

What I listed just seem like a few things to make exploration a little more enticing.

I love the menu designs of this game. So beautiful, stylish and intricate. What a difference to the very simple and modern looking Episode Duscae one.

Things are looking really good for the game atm. Graphics are finally up to standards for an FF mainline game (I'd argue) and the game has shown signs of being much more fleshed out than some were fearing (6-part skill trees, game being open for more than just the first half). I really hope the impressions about the feel of the gameplay are legit, so the last fear people have will also be laid to rest.

The combat shown at the PS Access stage at EGX was really good, but it was just regular crab monsters that do not pose any significant threat. Perhaps they will show some awesome boss battle at the livestream today so we can see the fine nuances of the system at work. It seems set to surpass the Witcher 3's combat, which was decent enough if somewhat simple, so that is already a good thing.

I really can't wait for this game! Shame for GR2, but FFXV is looking to be the blockbuster fantasy game I need in my life as quickly as possible after "finishing" The Witcher 3, so GR2 will have to wait a few days/weeks/a month until I am ready for it. Hope to finish World of Final Fantasy before this is out, too, since its playtime will suffer because of FFXV as well.
Be still, Trails of Cold Steel II: your time will come someday as well. The Last Guardian is dead to me with this current schedule, though.

So much positivity in here over the last few pages.

More foliage
Greatly expanded upgrade system from what people thought
Linear portion of game is not the entire back half
Reports of good combat feel in latest build
>300 classic tunes for the car

Tabbie and crew about to tear the roof off.

Now that the mood for this game is rather positive for once, do you think FFXV will restore the glory of FF as a top tier franchise or at least go a long way in working towards that? Or do you think it'll still be subpar for a mainline FF game?

Does anybody actually have a source for that claim? I just remember Tabata saying the second half was linear. I don't remember him backpedaling later.

Forgive my ignorance but doesn't that cost a lot of money to make the changes Square does? It looks like every week there is something that got changed or improved. I wonder how much copies they need to sell to break even. I think Deus was 5 million. This game is going to be 10 million?

Here in the IGN PAX 2016 interview:

IGN said:
Rather than it being the latter half, it’s actually very close to the end of the game, I didn’t want to end the game in an open world type of environment. At the very end, when the main character and the enemy are going against one another, there’s a build up in the story. I wanted to ensure that that last part was a little bit different from the open world environment and more of a packed, condensed type of game experience.
