plot

holy shit at those animations. The flinch in surprise, Ignis playing the cool guy and looking away, Prompto's baffled stare

That was amazing. The epic battles were awesome. The new solider designs looked nice. The Los Angeles looking city looks interesting. The music was great. And Cindy/Cidney is hot. HYYYYYYYPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDD!!!

At this point I like both English and Japanese voices equally. I like some better in one. Some better in the other. If possible (please be possible) I'll probably end up playing it in both. :P

Crazy how everyone seems to love Prompto's English VA when in the Japanese dub all the reaction were "man this guy is annoying he moans more than Vanille".

That trailer hypes me less than the past demo actually.. Probably cause it was exploration oriented, with lots of natural environment. The trailer really doesn't feel like an rpg to me.. And i mean those pasted lifeless soldiers you're fighting.. I know it's a wip but they seem so far.

And i'm kinda worried with the attempt at being realistic, the need to sleep for example. I sure damn hope FFXV and Zelda WiiU won't mark a terrible period where japanese devs tried to mimic western rpgs and failed. I can somwhewhat already see, in 2018, a new FF announced with SE advertising "return to the roots" lol. I just hope they don't go too far and lose the essence of FF and jrpgs in general.

OK, the last FF I was excited for was IX, and I still don't like the characters or anything I read or see about the battle system but man this trailer is amazing. Towns are back in FF, towns!!! Might seem silly but that was my favorite part.

And I love the art, it gives me so many VIII vibes and VIII has my favorite game world ever. Realistic games usually look totally uninteresting and boring to my eyes but they nailed the balance between realistic and stylized here. Both the world and the characters. They look real but still visibly "Nomura".

Also, that Titan at the end! Now I want to see the new Shiva, Bahamut and Tonberry designs. And moogles, I hope this game has moogles. I mean real moogles, like VI or IX moogles, not that abominable shit from XIII-2.

I love female Cid, shame she probably won't be a party member. She looks more interesting than the four guys put together.

I think if they erase the XIII trilogy from the canon, and remove all mentions and traces of it everywhere, they might be able to save the franchise. This looks very promising.

Funny, I much prefer his Japanese voice. For all of them, really. English dub is terrible, will only play this in Japanese.

I noticed a couple of things:

1.The UI element which told you which ally did which command is gone, hopefully it was scrapped, I think they could add something more substantial there.

2. During the town exploration video, I saw that Noctis' five-segment bar under his HP is back. We haven't seen it since the E3 2013 reveal trailer.

Looks awesome. I wonder what those green buildings/things are.
I think those buildings are unfinished stuff from the city and won't look like that in the final version, that's why it says "Town in development" :)

Game looks great. Loving the locales, plus I can't wait to see all the crazy stuff the 4 bros go through. The scale of the Titan is amazing. Good music too.

On the graphics, yeah the game needs more AA. I'm really impressed with the visuals in darker lighting though, like the ones where they're chilling in that rocky field outside the car, and the scene with Cor.

Euh so it looks like the car is not controlled by the player right? I mean it moves way too perfectly on that road, its like completely parallel to the lines. I guess the car is a 'wher you wanna go?' and then it brings you there..

I believe Tabata said back in Sept that you can either steer it yourself or ask Ignis to drive (autopilot)

you have option of auto-drive and driving it yourself.

They have said before that you can choose if you want it move automatically or if you want to control it on your own.

Watching it again, my second impression isn't that great anymore. Those four characters are so unappealing. I hate them all. Hate, hate, hate. I also remain very skeptical about the battle system, and the end looks too much like God of War. I love everything else, though.

Does anyone think the camera's a bit too close?

During combat, it zooms out now it seems.

During exploration it's close, and that's something that Tabata has a lot in his games.

I'm fine with it as long as it's further out during combat.

Yup definitely playing in Japanese.

I dont get why SE can never get the english voices right. I mean there are loads of talented VAs now in the industry.

About the characters judging from my personal experience with the series you can never be sure if you'll like someone or not before you play the game.
I used to think that Tidus was an awful character before i played FFX but gradually i started to like him and at the end of the game he actually became one of my favourites.
Lightning on the other hand i used to really like her before i played XIII but after i played it she became the worst character in the series.

So it can go either way i guess.

It was said that the area where the dog peed was an important part of the story in-game. We can definitely spot a building in the background. Also this town will be the link to the Titan summon somehow.
