Final Fantasy XV Jump Festa 2015 Trailer

But that would also be boring. It's not even about sexy or whatever, it's just characters that stand out. I don't want to see "normal" people in a fantasy game, I want to see characters that look or sound interesting.

Preach!

Are you sure? In Japanese games I've seen that so often. Almost all their jRPGs have sexy boys, sexy dressed boys, sexy acting boys. Or Visual Novels, dating sim and so on. Japan is not US and US is not the world.
in some Japanese games you also rub the clothes off little girls
so
also

I agree. Her outfit is at least colorful. That's why I detest the main cast's designs so much. They all just wear black. I'd like some variety.

Barret lived in a slum, wore a tattered shirt with the sleeves ripped off and still had metal bands around his stomach which I can assume offered some type of protection. His advent children version looks goofier though with the fish net shirt and padded vest.

His advent child deign is better because they decided to design an actually unique original black character, instead of just mr.T .

Something they should be commended on, they saw their flaw and went
" Huh , that was lazy and might be racist, how about we make an orginal guy "

and then they did

Original? He looks like hes performing on stage after defeating bahamut.

driving on the left side of the road is gonna fuck me up

You and me man, you and me.

I should write to Tabata to add an option to switch (although infeasible since a lot of cutscenes are in the car and mirroring them would be weird), dual driving is much more important than dual audio.

Will avoid the console versions and get it for PC.

Lack of AA and possibly not even 1080p is impossible to gloss over.

Poor english dubbing across the board; sticking to the Japanese audio.

Not a fan of the new Sid either...

Kingdom Hearts music is great as always.
Maybe you should actually wait until 2016, when the game is finished and doesn't have wireframing on buildings to judge the polished visual quality?

Jeez, it's no wonder developers opt for CG trailers, when people can't see when something is obviously not done.

Are you really trying to say there will be more to her outfit other than pandering?

There's nothing wrong with sexy in a vacuum, but when it's nearly all that's available there is a problem.

I feel there's a difference between one of these Vita games full of schoolgirls in sexy clothes with gropping mechanics and one game that presents both males and females on a sexy way.

Cindy is juts one female character and Luna and Stella and other female characters just seem fine.

I'm sorry, that street battle is the hottest shit.

Holy fuck. That "shit will be going down" walk up -> a perfectly sunlit duel. Amazing.

The cast of Senran Kagura are all high school age or older, they're not "little girls." You don't rub their clothes off, either; you must be thinking of another game.

I think that's why the |"also" was in there. The rubbing game he is talking about is Monster Monpiece.

Final Fantasy:Unlimited. >.>

I had no idea that a televised Final Fantasy anime was a thing, lol.

Like you said the Cid from FFIV is very stylized. This game is very obviously going for a more realistic aesthetic, more so than other ff games, hence the "fantasy set in reality" tagline. So that's another argument that falls flat on his face.
Also yea with my logic every Cid without a beard is a male sexist fantasy, oh wait a minute.

But in that particular case the rest of the characters are also very stylized. And were made of pixels. And not set in "A fantasy based on reality."

That's really stupid that he originally wore a shirt underneath and then they decided to make him shirtless, that in itself is also a form of pandering. Which I don't agree with.

Wait, there's at least 3 bearded Cids in your selection?! I say that the bearded mechanic could be a sexist cliché as well, but nobody ever cares about sexism towards males. It's just called Vaan sucks, Raiden sucks etc.

I don't know. "A fantasy based on reality" is still pretty vague imo. I also think reality does not negate stylized characters, we'll see plenty of those.

Yeah I know about Monster Monpiece, I just thought it was odd that they posted images of a game that doesn't even feature the shit they're talking about.

I think using the "fantasy based on reality"(not "set") might be reaching a bit. Given what we've seen, the "reality" inspired areas of this is still rather fantastical. And the fact that they were inspired by real life locations means little to nothing, as Square's been doing that type of thing since FFVII. I think when Nomura dropped the infamous tagline, it was meant to represent that the story will have inspiration by real life events of the past decade or so. He said he was inspired by real world events, political, war, religion, stuff like the war on terrorism and tension between nations. That and how the characters are meant to be, well, realistic in how they act, talk, and react to things, as well as there not being a clear right or wrong(like the Shakespearean quote). This would mean we will eventually find out Nifelheim aren't bad, or even we might come to understand why they want all the crystals(and it might even be something we sympathize with). Age old feuds might've been ignited through the most simple of misunderstandings. That's reality. I really DO think the whole "based on reality" tag was more story oriented than visual/setting.

What does that mean?

Because he looks so much cleaner in his look just like gladiolus does. Like models or artists that perform shirtless except for a vest or jacket. Anyways I'm not saying barret had the best look but in the context of him being bare chested except for a torn up shirt it made sense.

What Cids did I post have beards? At most the one from FFVII has a very small amount of stubble, which was removed in the CG movie. Are you trying to make the argument that having a beard if you're a mechanic is inherently sexist? Really?

FFXV threads from this point on:

Night time (USA) - Talking about trailer (including fashion)
Daytime (USA) - Talking only about fashion

i wanna talk about the actual game..but i really dont care about the fashion or that this girl is wearing a certain type of outfit.

He did have a beard (or whatever that is called in English).

I'm very late to reply to this, but I feel like Cindy makes sense for a few reasons:

  1. I don't think Sidney, Cidney, or Sidny are typical female names, especially not in North America.
  2. Sydney is an actual name, though perhaps more associated with Australia and still not including "Cid" in it.
  3. One might argue that the rest of localized Final Fantasy names also aren't typical North American names, BUT Cindy has a very stereotypical southeastern North America accent. For someone who grew up in the south to have that accent and be named "Cindy" or "Cindy Lou" would make perfect sense. Plus, "Cindy" still has all the letters of "Cid" in it, in the same order no less.

Stop making logical arguments, dang it! ^^;

But seriously, if we can have characters trotting around with the most obscure bunch of Latin names, we can very well have a character be called "Cidney".

As for naming, I think everyone including square enix is overthinking this like crazy. Why not just name her Cid? Since when does a name have to make 100% sense, you don't have to explain it to anyone. No one is gonna think BUT CID IS A MAN'S name. Actually I'm sure some will whine but this whole sidney/cindey/etc... thing is so silly. Name her Cid and that's that. If I'm square I just do that and I don't explain myself to anybody.

Unfortunately a couple of people do and need to make their point with 50 posts of the same thing so you have to wait for them to go to sleep.

No, this is Final Fantasy, so the name should be "Cid" something. Cidney has the name "Cid" in it, down to the pronunciation. Cindy doesn't sound like Cid at all--having the same letters in the word (with others in between them) isn't exactly impressive. Final Fantasy has very few true constants, this should be one of them. And if the localizers see fit to screw that up because they thought the name "Cidney" seemed too weird in a game full of characters named "Gladiolus" and "Prompto," then they're insane.

We think alike, you and I. But as my friend puts it, so little else is known about the game that asides from random speculating, this is the only thing that people can discuss at length about.

Also probably a stupid question but is the game open world? That video of them driving in town was pretty damn cool to see. Hope I can actually do that in-game.

Oi, that's my mistake. Still not a bushy beard like the other Cids though.

Apparently they're experimenting with how seamless everything will be.

Yes, I do because I have seen plenty of Cids in Final Fantasy with beards.

Where do you see a beard?

Yes. Tabata and Nomura have both discussed a few times about how they're trying to make the world be seamless (apart from a few instances) and similar to the old overworlds of final fantasy.
