Final Fantasy XV - Omen Trailer

After watching it with subtitltes, I'll throw my speculation of what it could mean (Kingsglaive spoilers):

Regis is being shown a vision by the Knights of the Round of a possible future for Noctis. We know after Kingsglaive that they were the figures towering above Insomnia in the Dawn trailer, with Regis lamenting Noctis' fate. We also know that Noctis went through a near death experience, we go through a journey inside his head in the Platinum Demo as he's recovering. I'm assuming Regis had to make a deal with the Old Wall to keep his son alive, but they're charging a price, which is what Regis is lamenting in the Dawn trailer.

This vision would then be basically the old kings saying "put them on the path we need him to go willingly, or we'll take him by force, and we don't give a shit what happens".

Noctis killing Luna could very well just be the simplest way to get her weapon, since we've seen the trident as one of the Armiger weapons in previous videos already. But now she'll probably give it to him willingly.

As to what that fate is, since the King of Light preventing the Plague of the Stars is a very old legend, I find it unlikely that it's related to that, assuming it has to do with his near death experience. That could fall on any Lucian King. I'm imagining it has to do with "I've seen many deaths, but now I only look forward to one". Which one that is should be very obvious to anyone who read the leaks, but I'll stop now :P

It was kind of awesome but also weird since it didn't feel like anything we have seen from the game so far. Felt like Nyx disguising as Noctis. :D
Are the other language versions up yet?

Don't know about others but I don't like the hinting going on here regarding any kind of leaks.

The leak might have only "leaked" one possible result. You do realize it is quite possible that there are multiple outcomes or endings right?

God......that was absolutely the best trailer they have ever done for this game.....holy shit.....my mind is blown.

In this era of marketing that's definitely something they would've brought up as a feature. Even more so as the other FF games that had multiple endings were advertised that way.
 
I am still unsure on whether I am buying this game or not, but this trailer was cool as hell. Loved the music and editing. It did look and sound like a KH opening.
 
That was pretty trippy and awesome. Digic are really impressive. Loved the trailer they did for Witcher 3.

I thought it was very obvious that the trailer was depicting what he said. I haven't read the leak, but it is obvious this is a potential future, rather than what will happen during the game. Him always being alone in the trailer is an obvious give away...

About the trailer, i think it is incredible.
Three people at my work decided to preorder the game after seeing this.

Yeah, I definitely thinks Regis' decision to send the bros was directly influenced by this.
 
Ehhh I did not enjoy that at all. I was wondering why it looked nothing like the Visual Works signature aesthetic. The style and editing was something I'd expect for a western game.

I appreciate what they were going for, but it just felt off. From the transition and strobe light editing to the tone deaf music selection, the trailer was trying it's best to look like a western AAA title.

The marketing for this game is all over the place.
 
Nice CG, but that was so strangely/poorly edited, a lot of those transitions were not so smooth. Not even being super critical here, it was just very apparent whenever they switched to a new shot or Noctis moved to a new area. Really noticeable.
 
That was pretty boring.

As a video, the 'dream' element of the trailer just made it too messy, I think. The transitions were pretty forced. Dog felt like it was screaming "symbolism!!!!!" too obviously. Action was adequate, but somewhat difficult to see at some parts.

Nice subway car though, feels like the train interior is modeled off NYC's older train style but with the coloring of the new seats?

And the spin doctors for how "Luna is a strong character" have arrived before someone could complain lol That's pretty telling in itself.

Video states in the description it was done by Digic Pictures, which is not Visual Works. It would explain some of the awkward-feeling animation, albeit I am guessing Digic didn't have much time to get this together and out the door.
 
A very important question,
will the trailer be inside the FFXV disc or is this just for Promo purposes?

Conceptional CG trailer of events that probably won't happen in game.

Pretty, and nice music, but ultimately inconsequencial.
 
I don't think there are multiple endings. I remember someone claiming that Tabata showed the ending to them and it was amazing. Unless Tabata showed all of the endings or just the best one.
 
It's amazing how much money Squeenix keeps throwing at this production. I wonder what the total budget is at now, and I wonder what will happen to this company if this game isn't a massive seller.

Personally, this trailer was as shitty as any sequence from Kingslgaive.
 
Wow amazing trailer. I hope part of the trailer is a bit true and you are just playing as Noctis solo for a bit because I like it when the main character is separated from their party for a while.

Awesome trailer. Love the concept of Regis seeing a dark timeline through the crystal and taking steps to avoid it. There's definitely going to be some Dumbledore "master plan" he put in action revealed later in the game.
 
What if the final boss is
Dark Noctis
from this bad future timeline? That would be weird!

I went from not buying this game (Tech demo was awful) , to interested ( seeing it improve) , to hyped ( Watching movie, short anime eps, newest preview) and now i'm officially at front of hype train day one purchase.
 
Man its crazy to see how much money SE spend on that game...its like there is no limit lol.
 
That was by far the best trailer this game had ever since it was still called Versus. Are we sure it wasn't made by Nomura and not Tabata?
