FINAL FANTASY XV - Uncovered New Trailer(s)

if they're gonna give every character such fine strands of hair, they should have made sure they could do real transparencies
the dithered hair transparency is so distracting when theres so much of it

Meh. It's Final Fantasy. I've gotten used to this. :p

25 years and people still bring up the "Dead/NOT DEAD!" aspect of FFIV.
19 years and I still see "Move to Sony/FMV ruined FF" with VII.
x amount of years and still we get the occasional stale "belts and zippers!" jokes.
15 years and the 'laughing' scene in FFX still ruffles jimmies.

10 years from now we'll probably still be hearing "LOL douchy Backstreet Boy clones ruined XV". I've come to accept that reality.
 
I'll be honest but the Amano art coming to life trailer is one of the best FF trailers I've seen. It's just so beautiful.

Yeah, this is really my only issue with the graphics right now outside of the shadows in the demo. Hopefully they can get the hair looking better by release, the effect is great when it comes to the way the hair moves, but man is the hair not clean.

I think exactly the same. The only issue I have on the visual side, is the dithering/aliasing on the hair of the characters.

Cid's hair and beard looked terrible to me, and this issue is really noticeable with Ardyn's long hair.

I can't wait to see what best summon Shiva looks like.

I hope she has the hindu goddess vibe she had in VII and X as opposed to the more alien looking version in VIII.
 
I was really surprised to see more elements from the Versus days in that trailer, like the ring Noctis wears, and the very same highway that we saw in the old DKS3713 trailer. :D

Stand By Me is actually a pretty good choice thematically, at least. Even though it's an older song, allmost everyone in the West knows the movie that it was in, which totally embodies the theme of some friends setting out into the unknown together.

You know what, this has been strange for me. I've heard this song plenty of times before, so I was bummed to know that FFXV was simply getting a cover song as its theme song. (Great cover, btw. I love it. I would have just preferred a new song from Florence + the Machine). I am not into American pop songs, but my friends who are into them haven't heard of this song and thought it was an original song.

Then again, I work part-time as a video editor for a talent management company so I wouldn't be surprised if one of our talents performed it and I had to edit that song and just completely forgot about it.
 
Interest level gone up a bit.

Things i would change
-Noctis being another brooding male lead with androgynous pretty face design.
-Hyperactive Prompto, probably done to cater to the Japanese crowd.

Hope the writing is much better after 10 years...

You know, I remember back in the day hearing about the ring in a Nomura interview, but I didn't think much about it until it was shown in Episode Duscae. I'm glad the ring was kept in after all these years.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of Nomura's original vision is still there, and it shows. Tabata is actually making it happen. :p

I agree.

I can understand why some people have been upset about the whole situation, but I have faith in Tabata. I'm a big Nomura fangirl, myself, but Tabata made this game come a long way in just a few years, in my opinion. There's a lot of heart and soul being poured into XV's development, and it really shows.

No. We have known these designs for 10 years and we still got people complaining. If the design puts them off so much they should have abandoned this game back in 2007.
 
Combat looks faster and better than in the demo. Still not sure about it. After the demo I'm disappointed but this trailer is awesome. Love the setting and travel aspect.

Cor looks great in battle
Definitely my fav character atm
They should kill off prompto and replace him with cor

I didn't like what little we saw of Titan before
Still thinks he's too Fod of War looking
But this agile athletic is such a refreshing and surprising take on him

Very nice showing
Actually having a hard time being too negative about anything
Except for prompto
Just awful
