Finally: Freeloader for Wii

This is me! I live in NZ (PAL region) but I have an American Wii for importing the good stuff.

I'd love to be able to get games local here as well though if I saw them cheap or whatever.

Are all the versions the same? Or is there a PAL freeloader and a NTSC freeloader or? Just checking, don't want to order the wrong one lol. :D

There's just one. Works on all Wii's apparently.

I'd like to see it working first before jumping in - as soon as somebody goes 'OMG Smash works on PAL with freeloader', I'm on that bandwagon pronto.

But its like $20 bucks? Why not get one then be like covered in the Awesome the minute its confirmed?

Oh, Nintendo say goodbye to the Hardcore gamers money, only mummy's who dont know about it will be buying your delayed and more expensive games now.

Karma's a Bitch

Finally, NTSC games on a PAL Wii here i come! :D :D :D :D

As an admitted Nintendo fan, I have absolutely no problem watching NOE fail miserably.

Indeed, with all this money they still cant sort their delay/quality shit out, they deserve to fail.

Yeah, I won’t be jumping in for probably a few months until I hear it's working. Zack & Wiki is the only game I'd like in the next few months and I'll just be getting it PAL for now.

What about Opoona? :O

I havent given this much thought while ordering it, but now that im slowly realizing it, I am getting really excited.

I am totally importing that Gundam game now.

oh shit, and im importing Sengoku Basara

I'm kinda the opposite. I ordered it and SSBB really quickly and now that I'm thinking about it I feel like it probably won't work and I'll just have wasted money. I'm such a pessimist, I hope I'm wrong.

Hopefully this will come to Play-Asia soon.

I own a Japanese Wii, and it doesn't hurt to have this around just in case I have a game that I want to play fully in English. I am thinking of games like Metroid where it was released months earlier in English than Japanese, and it just feels better for a US developed game to be played in English anyway.

Can't wait!

im not order any games until I get this in the mail and try out one of my friends import Wii games. If it works, I will seriously order $200 worth of software on NCSX.

At least I will get Gundam and Sengoku Basara, I know those two I wanted for a while now.

Fuck I just ordered NMH, Endless Ocean, Zack and Wiki as well as a pre-order for Brawl.

Now just to find Freeloader available to Australian shores.

GameTraders here are getting them in, hell yeah!

Christ that text is fast.

Edit: And now it's slow.

Yeah oops, fixed now :D

Alright, I think I'm going to wait either way. First make sure it all works as advertised and secondly that Nintendo don't wreck it with firmware updates.

Don't really want a useless copy of Brawl/Freeloader if they do :(

It's such a nice feeling to know that Nintendo of Australia, who do absolutely nothing except sit on their asses and ride the success of the Wii train, will be losing out. At least in a small way.

Same goes for all Nintendo PAL branches really.

I'm a little apprehensive since i've never bought one of these before and the thought of a firmware update rendering it useless scares me, but i am sick and tired of aussie prices and will give this a chance. I haven't bought any games in ages, other than off STEAM, so this will give me a chance to catch up on some games i've missed - plus Brawl early of course.

Quick question, I'm probably stupid but in the pirate scene if someone played another region's game on the console and it updated I believe it would brick it. I'd assume updating with other region's code on different firmware would mess the console up. How does this disc remove that? Maybe it stops updates from games altogether after putting in the disc.

Looks fine to me.

It's possible that the Wii Freeloader will be loaded from the disc channel, then you'll remove it and insert the import, not having to go to the disc channel again, thus the game won't prompt you to update the firmware.

I think.

It's got over one second per slide so it's fine.

I know in some browsers gifs run at a million miles an hour. At home on my Mac in Safari all animated gifs run at breakneck speed. Here at work on my PC in Firefox it works fine.

I'm not really up on it either, but I think Nintendo certainly can brick consoles. I know someone with a pirated copy of Galaxy and it won't run on their chipped console. Which is good.

I'm guessing the Freeloader will bypass the whole update process somehow. I don't know - hopefully that can get around these things.

These news are full of excellence. Nintendo Of Europe deserves nothing less than complete betrayal, and this looks like a fine enough way to deliver it.

While you Europeans are getting our Wii games, I can buy an NTSC one WITHOUT IMPORTING!

Oh wait....
The European Wii hardware is inferior. The support for s-video output is missing. NOE will never miss an opportunity to shit on paying customers.
