It's odd because I think the casual mode would be perfect in getting new players into the series (especially those who do not like permadeath). If Nintendo markets it right, they could bring new players into the series with the difficulty modes + casual mode. They probably won't, though. I might as well get my own copy if/when it goes budget (or before that if it won't go budget).

This one is new (or looks to be new), so I hope they bring it over, even if I really miss the sprite art. I'd love a new FE story!

It's true that Mystery of the Emblem DS targets a very wide range of skill levels. However, the DS being a succeeded system means NOA is highly unlikely to continue to support it. NOA has limited translation resources and they've chosen to work on more profitable 3DS titles. It's all about the money.

There's a chance of this FE making it over because the 3DS is an actively supported system to NOA.

i'm happy there is a fire emblem game coming out. i hope it comes out here though.

also is this a remake of fire emblem genealogy war? or a remake of the gamecube one? if it's a remake, i hope it's the one that never came here. but i think i saw ike in the video so idk.

also it looks like now character support plays a bigger role. i liked how that knight just followed his ally hitting the bad guy, and all he did was just stand there lol. still this seems interesting

This reveal actually kinda gave my interest in 3DS a bit of a boost. What's the deal with the clipping in the 3D segments, though? I mean, the characters' feet are sunken into the ground...

GBA I could understand, but the DS graphics were already fucking ugly. This 2D/3D mix is at least somewhat intriguing. I don't know if it makes sense if they don't add any new 3D gameplay mechanics during the combat, though.
Not sure if I want that, since I can't skip the combat animations then.

I'm playing Shadow Dragon, and I don't think it looks that bad. Worse than the GBA games, sure, but not repulsive. The map looks pretty bad in this one, and 3D battles have always looks awkward in FE to me. At least on PoR.

I'm really glad Nintendo is not going back to GBA style animations. FE5 was much better as a 2D game, and people really got themselves spoiled on the GBA animations, so they become unnaccepting of anything else.

I like what I see of this one so far. IS really shown how good they've become at gameplay with FE11 & 12, so it'll likely be a very worthy entry.
