First 45 minutes of Returnal

The previews are positive. Personally I love what I read but I'm afraid that this game is just to hard for the mainstream

Hopefully there is gonna be an alternative control scheme, they are not gonna force old school players to use a stupid gimmick to fire the alternative fire mode (i hope)
 
ok, first I'm glad to see some solid gameplay (the other IGN preview shows a bit more) and I am definitely interested but I have to say, it has still not justified that ÂŁ70/$70 price at all to me, especially in a space where it's competing with RE8, Mass Effect and Pokemon Snap, all of which are out at a similar timeframe of 2 weeks and unfortunately Returnal is an easy "wait for sale" game.

I can see this being on sale or part of PS+ really quickly, I'm hoping its a great game, but that price point is really gonna hurt it and I'm not the only one to think this
 
Am I only one who thinks that game looks absolutely ugly? Maybe that's my monitor but I can't see shit in every gameplay they shown. Fights looks even worse with so much particle effects (not being projectiles) that it's completely unreadable.

Don't have a PS5 and am not planning on getting one, but this game looks sweet. Liked the gameplay stuff and visuals are pretty good, too, except for that awkwardly looking and terribly designed face of hers, but then again, we only see her in cutscenes. Anyway, enjoy it, Sony fans!
 
Actually looks really good.

I just hope there is a lot more than what we've seen so far, because it's all been pretty similar.
 
i think a lot of did not understood or just missed but when you are reloading, there is a rectangle form, this came from Alienation, where you can half way reload it, at least it was the case in the Alienation :) neat feature :)

Very true. It just kept getting better. Also, the more they show the game, the more hyped I get. I'm this close to breaking my 2021-pact of no games at full price. I might cave in now, who knows lol

Also, seems most are ignoring it, the music is absolutely fantastic -- especially during the intro scene. Not just the audio design, but the soundtrack itself.

I was in, then I was out, now I might be back in. This and RE: Village are threatening my wallet.
 
I wasnt going to buy this game at full price but after seeing 50 threads on gaf about it I am still not going to buy this game at full price.

literally 4 threads on the front page alone if that is not a paid marketing push what it?

Looks just like her, except in one she is dolled up for the red carpet, the other she's stuck at work without her handbag

A shame this game will recieve a lot of hate because warriors cant have this game turning out to be proper AAA on PS5 while it's not on gamepass. So review bombing incoming and some very nasty anti-Jim Ryan narratives will pop up. Talking about doomed "no vision" Sony, expensive games, Sony missing the gamepass boat and some crap about not being able to play this game when you internal batteries dies BS.

The latest gamepass narrative can't have PS5 great titles on PS5 like Sony did for the last 6 years on PS4. That means their PS4 succes might just carry over and that's a big NO NO
 
Imagine doubting Housemarque. This is the game that's going to put them in the big leagues.

It looks mint. Housemarque gameplay with a sci-fi story, 4K 60fps with ray tracing, and full DualSense and 3D audio support? ÂŁ70 is a fucking STEAL.

Idk about the other threads but the embargo on previews lifted yesterday. I created this thread 2 hours before the embargo lifted.

I've seen that there has been quite a lot complaining about this being a $70 game so i assumed the interest in how it actually plays was pretty big considering how many people was posting stuff like "$70 dollars for a shitty 60 MC Brienne of Tarth indie". Seem to stir up quite a lot of emotions for some reason.

Liked this preview because the YT already spent some time with the game beforehand and seemed to know what he was doing
The game looks really fun. If this translates into good reviews I´ll pick it up once it falls below the ~50$ mark.

The only thing to do is to not read the user review bombs on metacritic and not engage with the warriors. PS5 is having its Bloodborne moment with Returnal from what I can tell. Support the game, play it to death, and ignore the rest.

Okay this looks better than I thought.

Still cautious about this one, but does Sony get away with a big SciFi exclusive PS5 game this early into the generation
 
It would go against my principles to preorder a game, I never do that no even if i loved the previous installments in a franchise from the same developer.

Still, this game seems to be exactly what i hoped it to be. I won't preorder, but I will buy it day one.

I'll probably pick up a physical copy, was sorta "meh/whatever" initially, because games like this typically aren't my cup of tea. Worst case scenario, I don't like it. It's just money, comes back every payday.

Also the enemies do not remind me of the matrix like some of the previewers say.
They remind me of the enemies from the movie "Edge of Tomorrow" design, movement and glowiness.

Best pure 4K/60FPS footage I have seen so far. Very good sound quality as well.

And it looks really really good in my opinion.

Damn, the sound quality in this clip was miles better than the other ones. The music and sound design in this game will be a feast for our ears.
