Movie wasn't great but even Mummy 3 had a decent aesthetic and music.

Enchantressssssssssssssss
Enchantress was far more cool/creepy looking though

Bit more interested after that clip.

People actually liked the Fraser mummy movies? I think I entered another parallel universe.
1st is a classic. I legitimately liked Scorpion King and 3 over 2 though.

Also loved
As a kid but it came and went far too quickly.

I'm going to guess (and that's all it is) that Cruise's character is able to survive the plane crash because he's a descendant of
Van Helsing..., or something.
.

And the last line of the film will be
"..., yes, but my mother's maiden name was Van Helsing."

An
Awesom-O
Production.

Is that an unpopular opinion? How the hell do people not like the best Indiana Jones movies that aren't Indiana Jones? Between Mummy 1 and 2 and Deep Rising, Stephen Sommers was on a mean streak of great schlocky fun action adventure/horror movies.

Tone is completely different from Mummy 1 & 2 which I loved (3 was an aberration), but I have enjoyed all Cruise movies lately, so will watch.

I saw the original and it was mediocre. I didn't bother with the second, since I heard it was more of the same.

According to that Kurtzmann interview,
Cruise's character doesn't survive the plane crash and there are curse shenanigans that bring him back
.

Hell even Stephen Sommers' Van Helsing is a guilty pleasure every now and then.

Mummy 1 and Deep Rising are great.

Sommers has such a...mean sense of humor.

What happens to Benny at the end of Mummy.
That guy who runs out of bullets in Deep Rising.

Part 2 was decent-ish.
Never saw part 3

Dracula and the Frankenstein monster were the worst part of that movie.

The werewolf/Van Helsing was great.
The brides were fucking A1. Live action Demonas.

I could take or leave Frankenstein's monster, he worked for the movie
But yeah hated that Dracula. Would have been a great opportunity for a
360

Castlevania style Dracula(over the top certainly but not complete camp.)

Werewolf design is probably my favorite of all time though, Van Helsing his gear and the setting looked incredible.
Brides were also great.

I don't know if it will good movie or not,but the only thing i'm certain is that i don't like change of tone.
1st movie is a classic and it will never be topped.

I think it's worth noting that both the 1932 original, and the 1999 reboot both felt unique and part of the Universal Monsters family.

This looks tepid, unoriginal, and unrelated. Modern day doesn't help at all.

Never saw part 3
While no where near as good as the original I personally still enjoyed it a lot. Aesthetics are amazing, great cast (though Weisz being recast is unforgivable), enjoyable new setting and some amazing punchlines. The problem is that the film falls completely apart at the halfway point. The yeti's are ridiculous, the transformation into a three headed dragon is just bizarre and the chemistry between Fraser and what's her name is non existent.

I do have to say that they fleshed out the character a lot, there's some actual family drama this time around it they do feel like they're a close family that had a bit of a falling out because of circumstances. It's a shame that the movie didn't get a bit extra work on the script because it really could've been amazing.

Well that and the story is basically Uncharted 2 which is amazing.

With Weizz and Velasquez bringing the heat in the Mummy series... Many first boners were had. The new girl just seems... weak.

So...

The whole reason they cast Sofia Boutella is because this is totally leading to some sort of Monster Squad-League of Extraordinary Gentleman type movie, right?

Ehhhhh no. That movie is utterly brain-dead dreck. I still LOL at the thought of the last scene where Van Helsing sees dead people in the sky while Frankenstein's monster rides a raft into the ocean or wherever.
