It's not really a disaster film like the original.
yes, one of the thing I didn't realize, there's very few city destruction scenes in this one, like what you see on trailer is maybe ~80% of what's in the movie lol

Saw the movie this month and it wasn't too bad. I certainly enjoyed it more than Star Trek. It was basically the same story as the first film but since I remember that movie rather fondly I didn't mind too much. Fun enough flick honestly that critics were a little overly harsh on. It's not much better than 2,5/5 but neither is Star Trek and that one got a fantastic reception.
