First list of Xbox One backward compatibility games revealed

I told you guys before it was a trap. The most voted games are being remastered as we speak.

it's looking like Marketing goodwill right now. But i guess the more popular games would take longer to make compatible. It's not an easy process.

I'd just like to see ShadowRun PLEASSE

it's clearly a similar case to last gen, where they went after some key titles, and a bunch of random crap also became backwards compatible by accident. it's a bit disappointing imo. but then i'm only really after the witcher 2.

btw, the SVC collections are developed by M2, the same team putting out the amazing 3DS Classics. these are my favorite ways to play these games!

Sure they will, just you know, not the actual ones anyone voted for in large numbers...
Well I think it's up to publishers what game they allow MS to put there, actually I think Spencer said that it's up to their cooperation. So voting just helps them to aim those games but doesn't mean that most votes guarantee game coming to BC.

Sigh.

No Ace Combat 6 probably cause of licensing.
Same for the delisted Outrun and After Burner Climax. Hopefully Daytona coming.

No Cave games, not even Guwange, no Under Defeat HD or Raiden Fighter Aces.
No Rez HD.
No Catherine.
No Red Dead Redemption.
No VF5 FE.

Basically the only ones I'm happy about are Mirror's Edge, SMeatBoy, Ikaruga (RSilvergun prolly coming too), R-Type, South Park TSOT and Pacman CE/DX.

:(

They also have some ridiculously awesome menu theme's done in the style of each game.

They literally said in announcing this list that Halo Reach and Black Ops are coming soon (two of the top 10). Also, Fallout 3 and Gears 3 are in the list, both on the top 10 as well.

I wasn't being serious. :(

Who ever describes something as a trap, and is serious about it?

Not every developer will remaster their games, so making their titles available on new hardware is the next best thing. I doubt we'll see a remaster of WarTech ever.

Yeah that is pretty much my point. It's going to be a mixed bag.

What gets me is the fact that they give BC this grand reveal at the E3 pressed and then cough up this awful list.

I just hope we do get remasters of most of the games I mentioned along with PC releases.

I think at E3 they mentioned that it was just a matter of devs / pubs saying they want to do it, and that there was little to no work involved in actually doing it. I'm not really sure about how they long they've been talking to devs to get them on board, but it's a shame that a lot of the games people want aren't there yet. They could be saving some of them for announcement later though, who knows

I was really hoping for Tales of Vesperia and Red Dead. I don't think I own any of the games listed for 360, so I'll continue to wait for the next batch.

Vote for the games you want here!!!!

D- Day

Here's a bunch of games you never asked for!!!

Can they sell BC on this? Most of these games are hardly demanding.

That is a really strange list to be launching BC with. Most of the big games that people are going to want to try out aren't going to work, and will likely just frustrate people. I hope the updates are large enough to get a solid list going within a few months.

Even if it had launched with all the biggest AAA games, there would still be lots of complaining why certain games aren't on list. It's interesting to see how often they plan to add games there.

I'm disappointed that Burnout Paradise isn't on this list, since there was a tweet by EA / Criterion that said they wanted to do it.

Also I really want Tales of Vesperia, but that wasn't really promised.

The list seems mostly fine to me for a start, except for the fact that they are listing a bunch of genesis games as separate titles, which I guess they were on Xbox arcade? I wish they would have just done "Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection" as one thing, since that collection is awesome.

Considering how much they have been pushing this feature that is a pretty weak initial list. Obviously it will get better over time but I would imagine most people buying an Xbone for Backwards compatibility this Holiday will be greatly disappointed.

Wow, that list is even more pathetic than I expected, and I had my expectations pretty low. Of course the only game I absolutely wanted, Dark Souls, isn't on there as well. They didn't put RDR in, which had to be one of the most requested. Looking at the list, it's mainly just Live Arcade games and not very many retail releases.

Not a good start at all.

I hope they stick to a regular schedule for updates. It sounds like that is the plan, starting with December but we'll see
