First look: A REALM REBORN: FINAL FANTASY XIV PS3 version

PC or bust. Looks dang good for PS3 though. In their current iteration, I would never consider playing an MMORPG on a console. Well except for DQX on Wii U, but only because there is no other choice.

It would seem that the cities are also seeing some cosmetic changes regardless to what has been said previously. The article asks if there are going to be any changes to cities, Yoshida follows up with "I thought that there wouldn't be any changes originally, but actually I've had the (development team) do something very daring after all.. (strained grin)"

Minagawa followed with saying at the last moment they were talking about schedules and "Eh, We're going to do rebuilding in the remainder of the schedule?" They're working combined to do whatever it is they are doing and they expect it'll be shown "soon".

This might not mean much for those who don't already play but it's good news to those that do.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that you should hold onto a Lv1 weapon because the resemblance is uncanny:

Also some comparisons for you guys:

- ARR's PS3 base resolution is 1280 x 544, which is then stretched/adjusted to 1280 x 720. Reason: PS3 memory limitations, etc. It's possible to set it higher as they're trying to fit every model into 10GB (the limit is 20GB), but with future considerations in mind, they want to set the bar relatively low for the sake of smooth performance.

I really hope they offer a digital version of this. I don't care how big it is. An MMO is something I play for months and being able to hop in whenever I want is highly appealing to me. It annoyed me having to keep the disc handy and switching whatever I was playing out when I played FFXI on the 360. Otherwise, I think it looks good. Haven't played since Beta so I'm looking forward to it.

Is that a quote?

I've remained true to Savefrog all this time. Then in swans a WHM Choco head, giving me the eyes, testing how faithful I really am to my avatar.

Most hyped MMO for me since well...ff14 lol. Too bad the vanilla version was total ass beyond sense.

I pray this kicks ass, and if not, at least there is a new FFXI expansion to look forward to. :D

so they are finally upping the level cap it seems?

wow so chocobos are gonna get its own job system too? :o

Just because this wasn't answered correctly in regards to the level cap; we are getting a level cap increase after launch on the first major patch. It was stated in the recent live producer letter and Yoshida mentioned the reason he wasn't upping the cap right away is he found it would delay launch release a lot longer if they had to make new 50+ content on top of revitalizing lvl 1-50 content. They want to balance the game for 1-50 for launch and then use the cap changes as brand new content for the world. There will be 2 raids (supposedly) at launch for lvl 50 and they will evolve with patches, or at least one of them will (the Crystal Tower) with new floors.

As for Chocobos they are based on 'style' of play and get AF to accompany that. Instead of classes they get archtypes like caster, healer, melee, tank. The AF is barding/costume based on the archtype you pick. There was a Behemoth barding for Chocobo shown during the Live Producer letter so it goes beyond jobs.
