I dont understand where in the timeline this movie takes place. Why are Professor X and Magneto so young but Emma Frost / Beast etc. look like they do now?

Wow, I remember catching this on TV when it first aired. Had to have been what, 15 years ago or so?
I almost want to track this down and watch it again. Almost.

Edit: Also, those are some bad costumes and actors in the OP pic. I will probably watch it, but like the upcoming game, I have zero hope for anything good from it.

Not impressed but I'll wait for the trailer before making any judgement. The fact that this is somewhat of a period piece kind of intrigues me.
 
The only good thing about the Generation-X movie was Matt Frewer, who is awesome in every movie he has ever made.

It came out in 1996. So probably makes sense given the tiny budget they had.
 
Jesus this thread is predictable. Almost all big film threads go this way when the first bit of material comes out. It seems 1 Picture is enough for some of GAF to throw their toys out the pram.

And yet they'll probably be the first to be "OMG day one" "All over mah face" once the trailer appears. Vaughn is a great director i have no doubt this film is going to be great.

I have faith in Vaughn as well. I just don't have faith in Fox. I want to be wrong about this, but I just fear them fucking over the film somehow, much like they did Wolverine. Hopefully they learned their lesson, because Vaughn deserves better.
 
Ms. Draper looks good in that pic. I will see this movie this and the next wolverine I am looking foward to. Even though the previous movies suck.

Nah, I was like this since Vaughn was announced as director. Unlike the rest of GAF, I don't have a hard-on for Stardust or the vastly overrated Kick Ass.
 
I am excited. 2011 will kill comic book movies for the next decade. Either all of them will suck and tank or enough will tank that Avengers tanks and then tank tank tank tank fuck superheroes tank
 
Kick-Ass WAS vastly overrated, but Stardust was pretty decent, as far as fantasy films go.

This looks quite silly, but I might give it a chance if the trailer is decent. Seems like the only actually good-looking things in the upcoming comic book movies are Captain America's costume and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy look. Everything else (Spider-man's costume, Thor's everything, Captain America's everything else, Green Lantern's almost everything) is either really silly or inferior to the already extant versions.

Edit: Frankly, I secretly hope that 99% of all blockbuster films will fail so that we can get some actually decent movies being made by Hollywood again, but I'm almost resigned to films sucking for a while.

Marvel could sue for the rights. I just feel like Fox has way to much on the line to let Vaughn have 100% control.

If they could sue for the movies sucking, they would have done it after Last Stand.
