Thor is the beginning of the end.

The only comments Ive heard from audiences re: Thor trailer has been "wow theyre really scraping the bottom of the barrel now" :lol

McAvoy and Fassbender have always been the only points of interest here for me.

You know what? I take it back. Superman might keep the flame alive for a few more years.

But I hope this movie is a wake up call to most people about just how important Bryan Singer was to the franchise. Producing doesn't mean shit.

He did come up with the story for this one. It was basically a copy-paste job from his X3 treatment, but still. :lol

You sure? Because his X3/X4 treatment was the Pheonix saga spanned over both films.

Why did they even bother calling it "First Class". Because of the uniforms? Thats really...really lame. Im surprised they didnt sneak wolverine in there somehow.

Farewell :(

Heard they wanted to but Vuaghn put his foot down.

iirc, his X3 dealt with the Hellfire Club resurrecting Jean as the Phoenix (and then X4 was the rest of that saga). From what I've read, First Class seems to deal with (at least in part) the Hellfire Club summoning some kind of super-powerful mutant or whatever.

It looks even worse!

Damn, that is even worse. Beast looks like the beast from that shitty, 80's, tv adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. And holy crap, I alwasy knew that was Linda Hamilton (this was post Terminator IIRC, so she was highly recognizable), but only after looking at this picture did I realize that Ron Perlman was the beast. Damn he's got to have broken some records for the number of roles he's had to wear heavy face make-up/prosthetics throughout his career.

This is a movie? The picture in the OP looks like a group photo for a TV show.

The Beast looks like the Hulk from the 1977 series.

Know what I remember?

I remember Iron Man being surprisingly decent and a promising sign of things to come from this fancy 'Marvel doing their own films' thing.

What the fuck happened?

I believe Fox retains the rights to Xmen as long as they keep crapping out movies. Fox sucks. Marvel's studio doesn't. Pretty simple really.

Marvel signed really shitty licensing deals back when they were struggling. IIRC FOX retains rights for X-Men and Spider-Man for as long as they keep making the movies.

Oh this is by Fox? Oh boy. That means we have two sucky studios, because everything Marvel post-Iron Man has also been not great so far.

People have been saying this film looks like Xmen: The Porn Parody. I think this picture pretty much confirms it. God damn, what is this? Austin Powers?

Even Fassbender/McAvoy can't really get me excited after this. They better bust out a trailer soon.

Sony has the rights for Spider-Man, and those may or may not be capped at 6 films.

But you're right that Fox owns X-Men and will continue to as long as they make a new movie every 3ish years.

What'd you expect it to look like given when the movie takes place? Honestly, tell me how that scene could be improved

Well 50% of the problem is marvel getting too much control in their movies and the other 50% of the problem is that FOX are mentally retarded.

Yeah I have no idea. It's clearly a product of the 60s. But it just looks silly is all. I guess it's more interesting going this route than the 'dark reboot' angle again.

lol except Xmen 3 > Iron Man 2. And probably will stand as a better film than Thor and Captain America.

Really? Man I don't know I think they are both pretty bad but X3 definitely edges out Iron Man 2.

I had no idea Kevin Bacon was in this. This movie truly looks awful.

Iron Man 2 was okay. Hulk was... well... I like Ed Norton. Mindless, wrecking ball, Hulk has never been a very compelling character to me anyway so I think they did a good job considering the source material blew. Cap looks like it could be okay and Thor looks... watchable. Contrast that to Fox's complete shitting on the F4 ip (which never once looked appealing) and partial pooping on the Xmen (with only one entry that's actually what I'd consider a good movie - X2).

This movie looks like I'd expect it to. Anyway, I'd rank IM2 > X3 >>>> Spiderman 3

Hulk on a 7.1 system elevates that movie to a whole new level.

Yeah that's exactly where I would put them.
Does this movie have the budget of a sci fi original movie or something?

Knowing the actual context of this picture, it looks awesome. Young Xavier and young Magneto facing off against each other over a game of Chess. But I just don't get any sort of Xavier vibe from McAvoy at all. I like him as an actor, but he doesn't look the part whatsoever. Fassbender, on the other hand, looks pretty good as a young Magneto.

Dali you have always been a future person. I just wish you could teach me how to fill my car with cool whip to protect me from fatal impacts.
