You should really watch
'How to Train your Dragon' is Pixar quality
and 'Rise of Guardians' has a special place in my heart and is the most beautiful CG film I have seen

outside of that though.....
I've been meaning to watch both. Heard great things about them.

Also need to watch 9.

yet it will still sweep all the major awards... just like the overrated Brave.
Still bitter about Wreck-it Ralph not getting the recognition it deserved at the awards..

For me HTTYD was not pixar quality. it was very good film but not as good as pixar. There was nothing special about it
haven't watched Gaurdian.9 is also very forgetable

Haven't seen Rise of Guardians before, but I'd heartily recommend How to Train Your Dragon. One of my favorite movies of all time right there, definitely meeting Pixar quality.

Planes isn't being made by Pixar. Two original films, The Good Dinosaur and The Inside Out, will be released before Finding Dory graces theaters worldwide.

ah okay. good to know.

I've been meaning to watch both. Heard great things about them.

haven't seen rise of the guardians, but 9 isn't really ... that good. i don't recommend not seeing it, but don't go in with high expectations.

how to train your dragon really surprised me though. it was 2010's best animated film.

i'd also like to recommend 2011's rango to any who haven't seen it. it's another great animated film.

Aww man I had high hopes for this, I hope they are just kicking Pixar while they are down, I'm sure its still better than 90% of the other kids films out there.

I just hope that the Muppets don't go down the same path. The movie was wonderful, but Tina Fey and Ricky Gervais already make it feel like a slimy sequel unlike Segel and Adams. I should be more open though.

If you think about it, The Muppets are pretty much the only 'practical' special effects Disney has anymore.

It's why I love Aardman so much and the people who did Mary and Max

I saw this at a screening last week. I thought it was pretty good and really gorgeous. 4/5 I think.

And yes, the umbrella-short is beautiful and heartwarming.

That Disney influence of family friendly movies that are unoffensive as possible finaly got to them.

disney animation has been better than pixar lately (Tangled, for example)

toy story 3 isn't as good as everyone makes it out to be.

cars 2 and brave aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be.

How the fuck did Pixar drop so harshly in quality? Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Up, all incredible, and the Cars 2...Brave...M:U...jesus. Did all the talent just up and leave one day?

Are they meeting for the first time at college?

Because in Monster's Inc. they say they've known eachother since elementary school at least.

Madagascar 3 is better than the latest 3 Pixar movies and Kung Fu Panda 2 was at least as good as Brave.

Really unsurprising. Everything about this thing looks aggressively mediocre. Sad thing is nobody has taken up the Pixar mantle. I was never a huge Pixar fanboy but they did use to make really original and creative stuff consistently. Dat Disney buyout, I guess.

KFP2 is way better than Brave.

Well, they had a good run. It is sad, though, they really turned themselves into something quite special, and now they're squandering their potential.

Remember when Pixar was doing unique and awesome IP like Rattatouille, Wall-E, and Up? Man, those were the days.

'The Good Dinosaur' which is out next year will be good. The concept sounds great and it's by the makers of UP. Then we have 'Inside Out' in 2015 which also sounds pretty good.

But yeh Toy Story 3 is the last really good Pixar film.

I don't see why this and Cars are Pixar movies that got sequels/a prequel. There are so many better deserving pixar movies to get a sequel. I'm not saying the original Monsters Inc wasn't a great film, but it's definitely not one I wanted a sequel/prequel to. I'm still waiting an Incredibles sequel.

Pixar needs to stop with the sequels etc. I thought they knew making too many sequels or prequels was a bad idea, wasn't that what John Lasseter made Disney stop doing when he was put in charge?

No it was that Disney wanted sequels and was going to make them themselves. Lasseter's reasoning is that as long as sequels have to happen anyway, they may as well happen under Pixar's roof.

Anyone who saw Brave should have seen this coming. I don't see why this and Cars got sequels before The Incredibles, aside from the fact that an Incredibles sequel might actually require decent writing.
