Fitness |OT9|...You looked better before

Here are how my numbers dropped from bulk to cut.

Squat 425x3x3 ---> 365x3x3
Bench 335x3x3 ---< 295x3x3
DL actually stayed ~500x3x3

It happens to the best of us Sean.

Oh I totally agree. The confusion comes in with the sudden drop off within the last month. But that's why I'm thinking I'm going lower and lower and it's more a motor pattern issue. I'm going to keep practicing dropping this deep, combined with front squats, and see what happens

Sean post that pic in OT and watch non fitness gaf tell you your knees should never go past your toes

Hah! That's my favorite criticism.

It's no use...

HIS KNEES ARE ALREADY DEAD.

I believe that the "never go ass to grass" part would go well with that. Your form is killing you, Sean.

I always wonder if people who sign up for obstacle courses have first just tried running the same distance first...

Good point. I can do 10 miles no problemo, just mixed with obstacles..... 😬😬😬😬😬

Not going to lie watching someone go atg and not being able to get back up is some funny shit.

I watch gym fail videos al the time on YouTube

i'm afraid to watch gym fail videos but i don't want to stumble upon a video where the bone shoots out of his shin/knee or something LOL

Anyone ever participated in a Tough Mudder? Doing one in "chicago" (rockford) this saturday and NERVOUS AS SHIT

12 miles 20 obstacles. Like, I think i might take a mr. hyde to keep my endurance up throughout.

I haven't done a Tough Mudder, but I've done the shortest Spartan race (Sprint), which was around 5 miles. I'm signed up for two longer Spartans in July and September.

I had a good time in spite of the lousy weather, but I wasn't really trying to be competitive. I was on a team with some people from my gym, and since we were in the non-competitive group ("open" vs. "elite"), we were allowed to help each other during the obstacles.

https://goo.gl/photos/tjDhUEqs6eYVfVGx9 - our group jumping over the fire at the finish line

I'm sure you'll enjoy yours too. Report back!

I always wonder if people who sign up for obstacle courses have first just tried running the same distance first...

I certainly didn't, but as I mentioned earlier, I wasn't trying to set impressive times. I actually liked having the obstacles to give me a break from the running.

22 years old, senior in college, wanna lose weight and get much more strength.

These guys are going to need to know a bit more that if you want specific help. Read the OPs, and come back with some questions and I'm sure it'll be more beneficial for everyone involved.

Edit: Woops, looks like I'm late on that one

It's neither, just a supplement to increase your protein for the day.
You can take it whenever.

He must take it the second he stops lifting or else all those gainz are wasted

Kidding! Just take it whenever. Or get protein from other sources

We should start a YouTube meme called "the protein challenge" where bros take a scoop of whey and just dump it in their mouth.

Need more info!! Check out the OP. There's a form to fill out that really helps us help you.

Eat less and lift heavy.

Hahah do you guys mean this form? If so....

  • Age: 22
    Height: 5'8
Weight: 234.8 but what's weird is that I don't look huge. My stomach is kinda bulging and I hate that.
Goal: under 200 pounds and much more strength
Current Training Schedule: I walk and run on a treadmill every Tuesday and Thursday at my college. I bet that sounds lame...
Current Training Equipment Available: I do have a gym at my university full of stuff
Comments: Help me turn into a sculpted and healthy young man, please. I also had a very psychical job and my weight was 205 then but since it was just temporary I lost it. Being inactive and playing games a little too much bug did bite me. My new job as a cashier at Walmart begins late next week so hopefully that helps burn calories. I'm also a clueless guy concerning fitness.

Next on bro bible.

Bro puts 3 scoops of whey in his mouth and you won't believe what happens next
This makes me want to get the lot of us and record an infomercial for some reason. Like a Bullshit Machine™ where the commercial shows us fumbling around with fitness until we get some electro zapper or some shit and bioscience from OT.

I'll edit that shit. A FitGAF production.

I only run twice per week, way less than runners recommended, and cycle 4 days per week. Cycling has dramatically reduced my running injuries and I'm still making awesome progress with my running, both for speed and distance. So far I've easily beat last year's race PRs and I'm on track to destroy last year's Soldier Field 10-mile time by at least 1:30 PER MILE.

Cycling is awesome.

*high five*

Practicing their Slav squats

Slav squats are a daily part of my routine man.

On another note, my shin splints are almost completely gone. It seems like my left leg is pain free and I get some light pain in my right leg after about 3/4 of a mile. It's feeling so good to have that go away. My times are still going down every run too. Overall I'm very happy with my run progress.

I like that, looks like a solid bit of kit.

It's basically last year's Defy with a slightly longer wheel base and no drop bars as I can't tuck in :(

Specing up against others in the price range gave the specs to Giant, but I went and tested a cannondale, trek and specialised, the later two had slightly more refined rides than the giant, but the Giant was so much lighter and I've knocked up 10k miles on the rock, with half of those as a daily commuter.

I don't regret my choice at all. :)

Are you able to go more than 2x per week? 4 times work?

Skipped gym.today. had some unopened salad mix in the fridge. I guess even though it wasn't filled with air it can still be bad. Tums isn't helping me lol

Someone in another thread recommended I try Combat Crunch bars and I have to say they are pretty tasty. Same basic nutrition as Quest bars but closer to a candy bar in taste.

My favorite bars surprisingly are Think Thin bars. They are the only one's I've found that don't taste like cardboard.

almost skipped today because but went with my gf. Glad I went just to witness this strong ass powerlifter who resembled a sumo man handle his squats.

He was squatting close to 500 for reps. :O. He was getting low as fuck too.

looked like the guy on the right.
