For real, that's the main takeway from me after re-playing the game today. This is still my favorite racer. All you listed is literal SSS Tier.
Sony shutting down Evolution might personally be the single biggest tragedy in gaming history.. not long ago I would have said on par with Silent Hills cancellation and P.T. removal, but now we do have good Silent Hill games.. nothing like Driveclub though, especially for PlayStation users.
Not only we would be playing this game at 4K and 60fps at this point, thanks to either PS4 Pro/PS5 patches or paid Remaster, we would also be likely playing MotorStorm remasters as well, and surely Driveclub 2 (and maybe even 3) would be a thing by now..

I mean if I were to be that of a dumbass and cherrypick certain time of day/spots where the game doesn't look right I would find plenty of cases where FH6 looks like shit or at least extremely underwhelming for a AAA 2026 game.

But that isn't the point here, there will always be games that will do certain things better than many others that come after it.
I think it's nice to reminisce and appreciate a good thing that we had but if you want to pop-in and be the asshole that everyone points at and laugh you do you man.

To be fair, none of the screenshots above look nearly as bad as the Driveclub example.
But nothing from Driveclub actually look as bad either. Not even that very same example looks the way it does in the actual game. Posted this in the previous page, but since it was the last post of said page and how many times that one awful picture have been posted over the years, I think it could be interesting enough to share again:
"I just found the spot from that notorious awful looking Driveclub screenshot.
Would have never found it in a million years without Google lens, because it's one of the Lamborghini Icons DLC challenges, 1 out of 45 of this DLC. (1 out of 1134 total).
In these you can't even change time of day or weather, they are static short segments you do once and never again.
The place was actually Norway, not Scotland, and the reason I would have never guessed it is because that screenshot is from this very track:
And right at the very end of this long-ass track, out of nowhere there it is!
What's really interesting however is that, while that spot really did look bad during that random ass DLC challenge, it still didn't look AS bad as that awful picture.
Took a grab for comparison sake and.. could someone please explain why the version in that screenshot is missing all the vegetation/soil variation on the hills that's present in the actual game, during that very same challenge that is 100% immutable?

I'm sorry but it's just impossibly funny how so far in order to discredit all the people praising the game along with all the gameplay GIFs and countless 1080p screenshots and videos posted, what's been presented as evidence to the contrary were a broken emulated PC version missing half its visuals, and a still screenshot from a DLC challenge out of a literal thousand, a DLC you can't even get anymore so factually not even part of the game anymore, that's even missing vegetation and the necessary ground variation to not make that spot look as bad as flat as implied by that awful grab..
Talk about "deceiving GIFs not representative of the gameplay"..

I still remember playing FH3 and the rain started and I was like "shit this doesn't look anywhere near as good as DriveClub".
FH5 is a great looking game, GT7 is a great looking game, better looking than DC in many ways but I think there is a reason why DC still captivates…

Probably one one of my top 3 racers. My top based on the time I've spent on it. Just an amazing game to this day; still play it regularly. Really sad that Evolution is gone.

FH has better image quality, but DC as better lighting, weather and overall immersiveness (especially in cockpit view).

Need for Speed 2015 is FIRE to this day.
A timeless visual masterpiece, with not really many dated elements in it at all thanks to its extemely static and limited visual nature.

I played a lot of it back around when it released and bought a number of the DLC packs. I'm pretty sure that back then I thought that the graphics were both amazing and average depending on the environment and conditions you raced in.
The stormy weather and the snow tracks looked fantastic but a decent number of the day time and the twilight hour tracks in a number of environments were fairly average looking. I played it primarily on a 50 inch 1080p Panasonic Plasma TV.

Yup agreed, sad this game didn't get a remaster, or a sequel at the very least. It would of been great. The game does have some incredible tech and needed a sequel so bad. Hate how Sony gives up on some games or ideas without giving it proper time to grow.

It heavily depends. In some circumstances (rain, night etc) it looks great. Daytime India... so so. Night does hide some low res texturework.
I think a res+fps boost would massively help.
The DLCs are not available anymore. The updates...so far as I know also not, meaning you won't even be able to play with the weather effects...
Guys, please chime in as well. Am I correct?

Yes you can but it's 1080 with an awful AA. I doubt you'll like it. Magic for its time but it needs a 4K/60 patch.

Gameplay has ~100ms of input lag. It's very crap.
And it is not 30fps shit show infested with blur.

The final number I have to take with a pitch of salt as this is by far the most responsive 30fps racer I've ever played and 116ms feels way to much compared to what I feel and see on the plasma, but the difference between the two games is definitive.

I had many Top 10 records on DC's "tank controls" apparently with the Fxxk and P1. Which means the game was absolutely playable.
