Forget about your racing wheel, Saitek creating first Farming Simulator controller

Saitek and GIANTS Software are teaming up to create the first ever, custom Farming Simulator hardware! Forget about using racing wheels to play Farming Simulator, you'll be driving your vehicle with a properly tilted, center sprung steering wheel with 900 degrees of turning and a wheel turning knob—just like the real thing! On the wheel, a Mini-stick controls your movement when not in your vehicle and real buttons allow you to use your in-game PDA. Gas and brake pedals come standard with the wheel, too.

Most exciting of all, Saitek is developing a Vehicle Side Panel exclusively for this game! The Side Panel features a Front Loader Control Stick to give you precise control of your vehicle's front attachments and fully programmable buttons for tool attach/detach, tool switching, reverse, lights, horn, cruise control, and more!

These are just some of the features under development for the new Farming Simulator hardware. As development rolls on, Saitek and GIANTS will periodically ask the community for its opinion on certain design features should and design decisions.. We'll also give you peeks behind the curtain with regular developer info and product progression updates on Saitek.com so check back frequently!

ICH KANN MEINEN HYPE NICHT KONTROLLIEREN!!
HALTE MICH GAF!!!

Sorry, that was the German in me.

Aw yiss. Should be good for Euro Truck too.

It wouldn't surprise me if there's a controller for ETS2 on the way as well. Both games control differently enough from a normal racing car and there's certainly a market for peripherals for both of them.

I'm very interested in the sidepanel and its potential uses for games like Elite, Star Citizen and flight sims. Edit: Aside from Farming Simulator itself of course.

Wow, that's really cool. I knew these types of games were popular in parts of Europe but I didn't know they were popular enough for companies to invest in making dedicated controllers for them.

I've always been a fan of dedicated controllers for certain types of games, BeatMania IIDX controllers, arcade sticks and lightgun controllers being my favorite. Although I guess this is kind of different, those aim to mimic the arcade machine experience while the farming controller and things like flight sticks aim to mimic their real life counterparts.
