Probably wanted an airtight case. There would be nothing more anger inducing than him getting off on some sort of technicality or shaky evidence.

Pedophiles are careful monsters. They'll speak in ways to cast doubt in their intentions, so getting a solid charge against them can be difficult.

Although she was horrified by his suggestion, she focused on gathering evidence to put him behind bars.

"During the time that I had with the FBI, I had to play a role. I had to play a certain part in order for Jared to be able to trust me and talk further into detail," she said.

Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle's charity was billed as a multi-million dollar effort to combat childhood obesity when it was launched in 2008, but it never gave out a single grant.

The Jared Foundation gave most of the money it did spend to its embattled executive director, Russell Taylor, USA Today reported.

The charity was supposed to shell out $2 million a year to schools and community organizations. But the foundation spent an average $73,000 per year from 2009 to 2013, USA Today reported, citing the organization's tax records. Sixty percent of that went to Taylor, and 26 percent is unaccounted for.

Damn. I don't know how she didn't wreck him the second he brought that proposition up. I guess knowing this would lead to him being put behind bars was the only thing stopping her from doing it.

My own reaction, across the internet, completely removed from this is shock and disgust. I don't think I could have done what that woman did. What a strong and selfless person she is.

I would have fucking lost it. Some sandwich shilling pedophile lusting after my own kids in front of me? Fuck. that.

By that time she was well underway being an FBI informant building the case against him. When you're dealing with shit like this, you need an open and shut case. It's why he pleaded guilty, zero chance to fight any of the charges.

She was playing her part.

For some reason when I first read that article, I thought it was talking about his own children, which is still bad, but damn that's even worse.

As someone who's more familiar with monsters like that than I'd like to be, I really feel for his kids. Who knows what kind of stuff might've gone on that hasn't been brought to light yet.

Hopefully, if he ever gets out, he'll be under constant supervision, because I can't imagine anyone so brazen about his pedophilia being easily dissuaded from relapsing.

But that might be enough. a lot of jobs could be lost because of negligence.

Damn, a lot of that is clarifying/adding to articles I posted a few days ago; Mills was still anonymous in those. The Thailand stuff is news to me. It's really getting difficult to believe Subway heads had no idea something was happening.
