Is Di Resta officially their third driver or don't they have one?

I suspect it's one of those cases where officially their reserve driver is a youngster (wasn't it Lynn for a while?) but in actuality they keep a veteran around who can actually jump in (see also: de la Rosa jumping in for Sauber a few years ago instead of Gutierrez)

Really pleased for Di Resta, no idea what he can do on a circuit everyone is struggling at when he hasn't driven an F1 car in 3 years but for me he's the poster child for drivers who are good enough but don't have rich daddies or didn't get in the right youth program as a kid.

Di Resta passed the FIA cockpit exit test (whatever that is) and is good to go.

Pretty sure that’s a test all drivers must go through to ensure that their heads arent above a certain height relative to a diagonal measurement between the air box and front of the cockpit. They also have go through a test to ensure they can get out of the cockpit, then re-attach the steering wheel within 5 seconds in case of a fire.

What's the importance of reattaching the wheel in that situation?

10 cases so far? Jeeze, hope no-one starts getting symptoms during the race. That could be dangerous.

Flashbacks to Webber vomiting in his helmet.

Doesn't sound like something you should try driving if you have it.

http://vestibular.org/labyrinthitis-and-vestibular-neuritis
Vestibular neuritis and labyrinthitis are disorders resulting from an infection that inflames the inner ear or the nerves connecting the inner ear to the brain. This inflammation disrupts the transmission of sensory information from the ear to the brain. Vertigo, dizziness, and difficulties with balance, vision, or hearing may result.

So I just saw this on Youtube, it's nuts. You blink you miss it.

The flexing on the rear left coming into the chicane from all the cars is terrifying. Like the tyre will just roll off.

This looks like the proper/expected pecking order for a slow circuit thusfar.
