Thanks for reminding me that I was 99% complete on the career grid in FM4 (including those stupid fucking drag races) before the game suddenly decided to revert me back to about 30% complete.

It did this twice.

I am planning to give it a second go when Forza 4 becomes backwards compatible because I sold my 360 some time ago. :)

Forza 4's career mode is getting a lot of shit from some people, but I just loved that huge table and I managed to complete about 90% of it (I only ignored a few endurance events on my less favorite circuits and stuff like autocross which I hate). Sadly we're going to get something similar to Horizon 3 in Forza 7 - here, you have the tools, go nuts and set all the rules yourself (and your finishing place doesn't matter at all).
I can't tell you how far I got in FH3 before I realised your place doesn't matter. I mean, what's the freaking point then?!?

Is that the first Forza title to do that?

Pretty sure they started that crap with 5, or the first Horizon.

Forza Motorsports at least requires you to get top 3 to "win" the career event. Forza Horizon is a focused campaign with actual progression and you have to win events. Horizon 2 required you to win.

Horizon 3 was a lazy campaign with no direction and you could finish last in everything besides showcase events. Even the online championships are based on XP earned while racing instead of actual finishing position.

The game shines though, even if the campaign is shit.

I don't get why it's so hard for them to create a captivating campaign. The last few attempts in Motorsport have been pretty woeful.

I like the physics, graphics car and track selection for the most part but campaign and AI make me beat my head against a wall.

I actually preferred the grid in 4 over the half assed attempt to force me to race in specific classes. At least the grid gave me more freedom to race in the events i want to race in.

Also, why are they determined to base driver behaviour on people that can't drive. Arbitrary grid placement then getting bounced around the first few corners by AI and restarting to get a decent first lap is not fun. It's more luck than skill whether or not you get rammed in the first few corners that will determine your finishing position.

Yep, Turn 10's release schedule pisses me off too.
C'mon guys, give me something juicy, preferably something to do with the new driveline flex system....been waiting since FM1 for it...you beautiful bastards!

Was just thinking, Turn 10 have nearly fulfilled all my desires regarding FM.
I begged for Aussie tracks...got it.
I begged for Aussie cars...fucking got it and then some.
I begged for driveline flex simulation....got it.
There's only one last thing and my life would be complete. I've been begging for upgraded sounds (as you upgrade the car) ala FM2 ever since... FM2. Hasn't materialized yet...
C'mon Turn 10 you can do it!!

Nothing new again.

Adding Horizon 3 cars doesn't really make sense when they're buggies and off road stuff. Everyone hates trucks and SUVs in FM already.

I guess they're just referring to the Forzavista interior/engine bay scanning as they actually fixed the exterior proportions and details of the 22B model for Forza 6. I made these comparison shots after the Forza 6 demo came out:

Up until Forza 6 the model had been the same terrible one since FM2. I really hope they've fixed the R32 GT-R for FM7 as well.

Oh damn I never played FM6 (don't have a bone) so had no idea, good to know. Still doesn't look 100% right though.

Yea the R32 model is terrible, not enough people talk about it though so I don't know if it will be changed.

I never bought a car pack with that Cadillac stretch limousine, should be a lot of fun. But yeah, it's almost all recycled cars. That Shelby 350R is the only brand new car, right?

They haven't done anything at all really since e3. Releasing weekly lists of cars is like the laziest way to keep hype going. People will just complain about what they don't see.

Maybe the last week will be a list of actually new cars to the franchise.

Hoping gamescom brings the goods, off-road tracks reveal? 🤔

Besides the car list (which I don't care about), there is such a lack of info and media for this game. Both gt sport and project cars 2 have been flooded with new stuff, while the only videos for this game are the same old E3 videos.

Still zero information about the xbox one version.

This is all good news to me....hells motherfucking yeah!
I havent finished Horizon 3 yet hopefully ill have some free time to marathon Horizon 3 hard so i can jump into this (Yes i know they are very different games, but subtle handling changes really fuck me up when i try switch between Horizon and Motorsport so i stick to one at a time)

More widebody kits and hopefully race conversions are in.
I mean i would love to build some crazy looking Hillclimb or time attack looking cars.

EDIT: oh, if they're bringing over widebody kit support from Horizon 3, then I guess they WILL support custom liveries?

Liveries.....you mean the feature that feature that has been in every single Forza game since the original 30fps one??

I was really hoping they'd bring back the EG civic for this one, and maybe change it to the SIR rather than the VTI, oh well. Glad the R31 made it over though.

YES MOTHERFUCKERS

Hahaha I knew you would be happy
I was trying to remember who posted they werent buying Forza 7 without the Evo when they announced the first list of cars.

Have they said if there's a chance that point-to-point races might make a return? I guess I just miss tracks like Positano, Fujimi Kaido, and the Shipyards.

Bah, for that matter, I miss a lot of the T10 original tracks. They should do an original track pack DLC:
-Montserrat
-Iberian
-Alpine Ring
-Sedona Raceway
-Tokyo Circuit
-and I guess New York can come, too

Pcars 2 is being live streamed and sms devs pop into the chats answering questions and stuff. It looks like a solid improvement at least.

T10 hasn't done shit since e3.

Fucking insane.
It would take Rivals mode to a whole new level if we could build Time Attack level cars.

Sad thing is one of my "car guy" friends saw a couple of Time Attack cars on my wallpaper and had the audacity to call them Ricer cars.
"Why would a front wheel drive car need a wing in the back and the front?"

Well show him this video of that Aslan EG6 getting a 58 second time attack on Tsukuba Circuit. I certainly wouldn't call that slow and certainly shows that the aero works with the FF having wing-like canards and a gt wing in the back.

Just Suzuka at the moment. I want Motegi, too, it's owned by the same company that owns Suzuka (Honda Mobilityland), so that should be possible.

Week 5. No new cars again :( but plenty of Forza 4 returns, yay. Cool to see the Alfa Montreal, E60 M5 and Z3m coupe.

They will have to eventually start to add new cars to fit that garage with 700 cars. That's assuming they won't go with the cheap solution and just do a lot of Horizon edition models. ;)

is there even a new M3?
I tought the M4 replaces the coupe/2doors 3 series BMW cars, so that technically a M4 is the newest M3

No, there are separate M3 and M4 cars. the 4 is a 2 door couple, the 3 is a 4 door sedan. there is slightly different styling, but very similar cars. As I stated above, I'm sure anyone playing at least wants a shot at driving their own specific car.

I'm really getting tired of all the recycled cars. Stop copy-pasting the DLC from the previous years game plus keeping the old stuff and think that's enough. There are so many good new models that have come out, and yet I don't see anything new. Chiron, 675LT, Aventador S... I love these games but where's the new shit at. I don't want an MP412C/650S for the 5th time, for example.

They haven't even shown what the game looks like on anything other than the X as well.

Feels like they're really coasting with this game, but I pre-ordered anyways like an idiot.

Gotta agree here, would really like to see more on this game, just even a snippet of info of how the career mode works would be nice. I'm really amped to get this, considering the wheel support for PC includes both XBOX and PS wheels, also the fact that im having fun going through the Forza 6 career mode and DLC. But I really want to know how the career and multiplayer will work in F7.

They have to bring out some new details at Gamescom, right?

I don't know if I can get this game now I don't have a wheel :(

Maybe I will anyway to tinker with the cars, and it's a nice 4K showcase.
