Forza Horizon 6 |OT| Tōge Drift

Man. I'm trying to do some completion stuff and this Pear Pressure wristband event, I just can't seem to get 3 stars on it. Butted my head against it so many times .. even with full AI assists .. and just can't beat it under the required 4 minutes. Always end up being one or two seconds above it.

Sucks that there's absolutely no way to upgrade or choose which car to bring to these showcase events.

I had to tune the car and seriously let the AI drive but on the last home stretch as soon as the car gets lined up for the final stretch you take over and hold the gas in

Took me likely 20 times

Do you recall what specific things you tuned? I'm about at my wit's end with this specific one, lol. Every other single horizon challenge is 3 stars, just this one is being a thorn.

Yeah, that one took me a few tries as well....but managed it finally. All these awful 90° corners...i hate them! :messenger_winking_tongue:

I don't recall which tune it was as I just bought it, trying to look through them as I have a different one now, even then I barely made it

I keep getting 4 : 01 , 4 : 02 and shit .. sigh .. will keep banging my head against it for a bit more.

Yeah, the final stretch where you basically have to make 20 90* turns in a row to get to the top of the ramp thing is such a brutal thing.

Had the same issue on first start, solution was to change RTSS setting: application detection level to low from high, also stealth mode on.
You are the man! Thank you. Application detection setting was the issue. I had it set to high. Setting to Low fixed it!

Bruh I would punch the retard that greenlit this AI straight in the balls!

This is the second time you've posted a gif lambasting the AI and I can't help but say I do exactly the same against opponents. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Last night, I won one of those 2 car street races by basically shoving the AI car off road down a ravine cause he was just too fucking fast.

The AI in this game is ridiculous.

I've played every Horizon game on the highest AI difficulty and bar the odd race here and there I thought it was quite fair.

In this, it's on another level. Even the second highest difficulty is harder than the highest in the previous five games. It's also very weird because it's usually just the lead driver driving off into the distance and being virtually uncatchable.

Very strange all round.

You can go down with difficulty. Game seems to be "harder" than FH5...thats true.

I've been playing FH6 since Monday when my physical copy got delivered a day early. I've been enjoying it same as every other Forza Horizon and, at time of typing, I'm up to the orange wristband and the purple stamp, have found all Treasure Cars and smashed all of the poor defenseless mascots.

I have two major gripes with the game.

1) We're in Japan but it doesn't feel very Japanese. No real homage to Japanese car culture. The story missions could be transplanted to Australia, or England, or Mexico and they'd feel the same. The restaurants for every food delivery pickup speak with an English accent. The Japanese NPCs we interact with feel like caricatures of Japanese people. The main Japanese NPC we interact with from the very beginning, Mei, is Japanese/British. The landscape is distinctly Japanese but it feels off when the NPC traffic is driving around with American trucks, or big Mercedes-Benz SUVs, or random European cars. Tokyo City feels lifeless. I've pretty much kept my radio on Gacha City Radio as that's really the only Japanese flair this game has.

2) The AI/Drivatars are batshit insane. For reference, in FH4 and FH5 I found Expert difficulty to be my sweet spot of challenge and fun. In FH6, Expert difficulty is ridiculous. I'm constantly being dive bombed or ass-rammed in the corners and on the straights every single AI driver summons the power of Dominic Toretto with a heaping tank of nitrous. AI drivers are utterly unaffected by rain/mud, snow/ice and can take the perfect line every time while I'm feathering the hell out of the brake and accelerator to keep from sliding. On far too many occasions I've watched them plow through guardrails and other obstacles that would slow me down but it has zero effect on them as they continue accelerating. Literally watched as they've taken 90 degree turns at speed and clipped through the crowd barriers as if they weren't there. Tuning and/or upgrading cars doesn't seem to help, AI just seems to tune or upgrade their cars proportionately. It isn't just races either; Even the "chill" drivers in the Day Trips do this crap if you get ahead of them in the convoy.

I thought maybe I was rusty but I fired up FH5 and started playing on Expert where I left off a year ago with no issues. Sure, there FH5 has it's share of AI jank but it is nowhere near as bad as it is in FH6. This is probably the first Forza Horizon game where I dread street races due to this. All I can think is, "What stupidity is the AI going to do this time?", like the time one of them literally PIT maneuvered me off a damn cliff mid-race.

I'm still enjoying it and would give it an 8.5/10, same as I'd give the last two Forza Horizon games.
But damn does this AI need some tuning because some of this jank sucks the fun right out of it.
Multiplayer and rival ghosts are fantastic as always.
