The worst part is they intentionally made it that way. The MS store runs fine, UI is fine, but all the fucky shit they do with the filesystem is why it has so many goddamn weird issues.

Like Steam just shits your game files out into a folder. You can do whatever you want with it. But MS/Xbox Store? Noooooo it's all hidden and read only and has a bunch of other weird restrictions

That's how it used to be in the past, and it was ridiculous. But it's not like that anymore, mostly.

Now folders can be placed wherever you want and are no longer locked behind system permissions. You can open them, view the files, and often mod them or install Reshade, just like with Steam games.

Some older or specific titles remain locked, especially those with strict anti-cheat, and some games are still a bit more restrictive than Steam regarding certain files like exe files. Still, it's nothing like it used to be I mainly use Steam, but I haven't had many technical issues with Xbox/GP titles in the last couple of years.

If I have Game Pass (PC), can I buy some sort of upgrade to play this early? I'm not seeing that option in the app...or can I purchase a key online somewhere that is applicable to the Game Pass version?
 
Driving through water doesnt seem to slow you down as much as it used to do. Played a couple of rally events and didnt fall behind like I used to in FH5 when passing through water bodies.

You can buy the Premium Edition for early access. You'll own the Premium Edition Upgrade but lose access to the game entirely if your Game Pass sub lapses, since the base game is part of that.

That hasn't been the case in years. Xbox PC app games have a regular file/folder structure.

First time playing Forza... There's so much stuff in the game menus/mechanics. I do enjoy the free roam though and the races are fun compared to Gran Turismo.
 
120k on steam...on a friday morning while asking extra money for "advanced access"....is not a bad result!

I am just downloading and hope this game runs as well under linux as FH5 did.
 
Game is fucking brilliant.

Also I can confirm that in the first race in the mechanics r32 I can clearly hear Japanese people counting down 3, 2,1 as well and san, no, ichi as well. So there is clearly Japanese counting as well as English from the crowds in the festival in street areas

I'm so fucking happy. It feels sooo good
 
120k people playing on steam on a 110 pound copy of the game is crazy considering it's so cheap on places like loaded on Xbox store and gamepass too, with upgrades.

Why the shit review score on steam tho? Game seems incredibly well polished on pc.

Most disappointing thing is that even after 6 iterations we can't get a semblance of competitive AI. Just like in FH5, it's either completely retarded or dirty and rubber banding.

Roll on Tuesday next week. I loved 4 and hated 5. This looks like the best entry in the franchise from what I've seen. I excite.
 
I was born in the 80s. I've played a fair few games and systems between then and now.

I have to say I'm Series X Quality mode this is the single most cleanest image quality game I've ever seen in my life. Theres not a single jagged edge. No shimmering anywhere.

Very impressive.

is this just same ol FH slop but POG in japan or are there any actual improvements?

Has the car physics been updated?
Do they still use car models from early forza?
Is there actual progression, or do you get supercars after 3 races?
Does winning races actually matter?
Is there a resemblance of a story or is it just another retarded gen z written story?
Do the AI still cheat and rubberband at high diff?
 
This game is brilliant runs very smooth even when dialled in on steam deck.
The music ,the location, the atmosphere even the main menu music. Its pure quality and what an actual AAA game should be like.
Amazing for short bursts of play they improved so much from FH5 and this is more like FH4.

Loving it and can see myself putting in loads of time.
Also the graphics are beautiful especially with full RT.
 
The wait is already killing me! Any hints what the expansions will be? I'm considering going with the premium upgrade on top of Gamepass. 699SEK, that's $74.
 
My Moza R5 are supposed to be delivered today, so far then only item from the 2 piece package that says it actually will be delivered today is the break pedal upgrade....I refuse to start the game untill this is installed and calibrated, if i have to wait untill Monday, oooh boy. Hope ya all are having fun though!
 
Okay, linux doesnt work with nvidia cards atm. I am getting constant crashes. Game wants the latest 596 driver...which is not available on linux (only 595). This might be the issue. Back to fckn windows I guess. :messenger_pensive:

So I'm running the game at extreme everything with the 2 fancy ray tracing settings at their highest on a 4070 TI super with DLSS performance, no frame gen.... and I'm getting 60-75 fps @ 4k. Surly the game shouldn't be running this well? Pre release benchmarks indicated (I thought) that I would need to be @ 1440p to get these results. Am I missing something?
 

So watching this video, I noticed it says "Spring is approaching" and there is a countdown to the Spring season. Does that mean that this gameplay is currently Winter? If so, doesn't Japan have snow in the entire country during winter? Or is snow just in the northern parts?
 
First impressions are very good. Map is freakin huge. Physics feel a bit heavier? As if the cars stick to the tarmac a bit more but maybe that was the cars I tried.

The FE version of the Horizon 1 Viper is an absolute beast to drive!

Three races? I've been awarded them for playing previous games in the series. I've done one race.
Not sure but like all the others there's a button for guaranteed progression.
Boss bitch telling me where to go and what to do so far.
Of course they do.

The cars feel a bit more drifty to me and like I'm driving on ice.

I've bought every Forza Horizon, but this one isn't hooking me at all. I'm honestly pretty disappointed.

I don't wanna ruin the game for those enjoying it, but man…I think I'm gonna return it.

They are somehow uglier in the character portrait than in the game. I just left my guy as the default.
 
This is fucking sickkkkkkk!

Buzzing. The ray tracing makes the reflections great as I use bonnet view feels good with a pad.

Tried the series x and that looks good too. Physics and everything feels great. I'm gonna set up my full moza r9 kit this weekend but on the Logitech it feels not too bad. I wanna see if they've made it better with wheels this time.

Pad feels good too. Playground are wizards TBF. Pc version has loads of options and runs very well.

Since I got gamepass for Subnautica 2 on pc, I am gonna download Forza 6 to make my man adamsapple adamsapple happy. I wouldn't pay for it but since its on gamepass I'll take a look.

Please tell me that the pronouns are at least optional though 🤡

I mean, you have to pick your pronouns when you create your character and select your dong preferences, but I don't see them mentioned anywhere in the game after that.
