Forza Horizon 6 |OT| Tōge Drift

Tried this on my sim rig last night and spent a couple of hours just cruising around. At one point, someone tagged along. Didn't really expect that in this game.

While it wasn't exactly Shutoko Revival Project on Assetto Corsa, it was still a lot of fun. I think I'll spend a lot of time playing the game like this, especially if I find groups to cruise with.

There are lots of immersion/cockpit related features I wish the game had (better FOV adjustment, seat adjustment independent of FOV, turn signals, light controls etc.) but it felt better than many other controller-first games I've tried on wheel.

What setup you got. I have a simagic evo and FH5 was annoying af to go working

Anybody mess with the audio settings at all? I switched to the music focus and I swear not much changed despite most of the audio sliders being at 30 versus 100. The music still seems muffled in comparison to everything else.

The map and traffic density is pretty good, It's basically OutRun 2026 at this point.

Anyone else's CPU getting hammered in the Toyko city area with the skyscrapers? RT on or off my 11900k is hitting 100% usage in just that are. Yea I know the 11900k is "slow" but with 32gb of dual rank cl14-14-14 DDR4 3733mhz it's not a slouch, either. I'm seeing frames in the low-mid 70's for some part of it which is quite a drop when I'm usually around 100fps.

Edit: a reboot fixed some of it, hovering around 85 but still some areas in the city are dipping into the 70's. Wondering if the extra traffic density is having that much of an effect here?

I honestly could not tell you the last time I was this addicted to a game. Hours are flying by and not feeling like they are at all.

Reminds me of when I was a teen up all night loving Horizon 1 and Horizon 3. This game is such a great throwback to those.

And just like that 6 hours of my life disappeared. This was my expected game of the year (cause no console for GTA) and it has not disappointed me. I wish I could play in proper VR but I run it through a headset and pretend anyway.

The underlying mechanics of 5 seemed pretty good, but the constant popups and general teenage social media vibe hot too annoying for me. How's 6 compare for that?

I just spent 2 hours just placing out junk in a garage… 😳
Apparently you can build your own stunt track too…

Dolby Vision on this game with an LG C4 is something else. That's the biggest miss on Playstation for me, that it doesn't support DV for gaming.

It's incredible.

Put in a few hours today. The game is fun, but I had my fill of fh5 and this game feels extremely similar
They already peaked at FH4, so now is more like having different places to see. I mean, you can only go so far in a sim/arcade racing game

With a personal note, Forza Horizon 5 has the best intro music in a racing game since Midnight Club 3. 6 feels too edgy, so is kinda forgetable

Ironically, even though this is a racer, what they need to address the most in future titles is making the environment more vivid. Animals in all shapes that make sense, humans walking around, doing roadwork, operating cranes and other machines etc.

If they do this, they could get away with releasing exactly the same game once again. Hopefully Helix is capable of including much more of these elements.

Put around 30 hours and by far the most infuriating thing is the AI. Some genius thought FH5 AI wasn't thrash enough and said hey let's make it even more aggressive and unfair.

In 5 I usually finished events with a mix of pro and unbeatable but in 6 the behavior above expert is egregious. The amount of times I've been side rammed just by passing through, dive bombed and ass fucked it's insane.

And unless you're using some godly tune 8/10 races end up like this. So fucking sad to see this again.

30 hours already?

damn man, get some rest.

The thing that triggers me is 10/11 of them speeding away from you on a straight when you all have a car with the same score, and the only opportunity to catch them is by braking later than the game recommends.

Why is there no support for FSR frame gen?

Anyway, I tried it on the Steam Deck and it felt ugly and unplayable to me no matter what settings I used but I'm sure people will still be able to enjoy it if that's their only option to play. The Z13 is handling it like a champ. The benchmark tool was giving me an average of 90+ FPS on high, 60+ FPS on ultra, 55+ FPS on extreme at 1600p with FSR at Quality. It was weird how little performance hit there was going from extreme to ultra. Love this tablet so much.

AI is clearly cheating, they can't corner worth shit but it doesn't matter because they'll leave you behind on straights. Feels near impossible even with good tunes and stock shouldn't even try.

Same experience.
I usually play Pro/Expert. Now i've settled on Highly Skilled because of the reasons you mentioned and even then, there is a lot of tension during race. The most infuriating issue is the divebombing which destroy my skill points. It seems like every drivatar is a troll singing "C..c..c...Combo BREAKERrrrr" at every corner.
It's very difficult to go past +60% difficulty. All assist off on brakes is also a lot harder than i remember on 5.

BTW 30 hours ? Did you even sleep the past 2 days ? 👀

They probably don't want you mowing down pedestrians and animals in their light hearted racing game

Super HICAS actually works in game?

Man cant wait to jump in.
I promised myself I would get my usual staple of cars this time around.

I love RT in this game, it's almost everywhere and looks really good.
You can even use mirrors to see incoming traffic (and see your own car's reflection too).

(screenshot can look off as it was taken in HDR)

I really wish they went back to bucket list challenges instead of this "story" shit they've brought in the last few games.

Just dragged out, mostly not challenging and full of cringe dialogue.

A lot of the bucket list stuff was atmospheric and fun.

The first DLC could be a new version of Forza Motorsport, with 7-8 Japanese tracks + Nordschlife, SPA, Le Mans, etc! This is no joke!
