will sasso, nicole sullivan, aries spears, phil lamarr, Alex Borstein

they made the show worth watching... sucks that the majority of them only get voice acting gigs.

good riddance to bad rubbish i say!
Did you know Phil Lamar voiced Vamp in the Metal Gear Solid series?

true fact.

I thought MADtv was ok.

Will Sasso is alright, Seth Meyers (SNL) brother (I think) Jeff is on there now. Oh yeah, Orlando Jones and Aries Spears, forgot about them. Evolution kicks ass.

I personally like SNL more, although, I'm from Australia, so we don't keep up with current stuff from either show.

SNL is still pretty good from what I see, but of course it's not where it was in the past. SNL probably started to dip post Will Ferrell.

Everyone always thinks SNL dips post some new celeb from it. It's VERY cyclical.

It used to be funny, back when Miss Swan (Lois from Family Guy's voice) and others were on. Now it's kind of... eh.

Still funnier than SNL, which hasn't been funny at all in seemingly forever.

It's been pretty good this year.

I can name several of em off the top of my head.

Nicole Parker
Aries Spears
Will Sasso
Bobby Lee
Frank Caliendo
Debra Wilson
Michael Keegan Kay or somethin like that.

A good 80% of the sketches are bound to suck..but that 20% remaining is pure gold. Bobby Lee is a genius...there, I said it...genius. Why the fuck did they give frank a show when bobby can go on for an full hour with just a luchador mask and a pair of tighty whities on and be hilarious the whole time.

Will Sasso was fucking amazing in some of the MadTV sketches. Pretty sure he quit years ago, though. Wonder what he's doing now.

he does alot of voice acting work...

he was christopher jacobs in mercenaries 2, LeRue in condemned 2, Ramza in final fantasy tactics, Reddas in final fantasy 12...

he's really all over cartoon network... in almost every show, always on family guy...

the man is all over the place... check out his imdb... alot of shit many people probably never knew.

I prefer Mad TV to SNL. But I haven't been watching since Will Saso left.

But I did HATE the fucking recurring characters like Miss Swan and the latino chicks and all that fucking CRAP.

The Sopranos on PAX: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp4QVYNAFcQ

:lol

Yep, I was aware. :D

Remember him in Pulp Fiction? :lol

Anyone have a link to that one sketch where Will Sasso runs a store and is desperate for money or something, so he runs a commercial selling off all of his personal possessions?

Well, I mean, I thought Tina Fey and Jimmy Falon and the others did a good job propping it up for a bit longer.

But still, Will Ferrell is hardly a 'new celeb'.

I liked some f the skits, mostly the mocking celebrities stuff. Aries Spears was hilarious in that R Kelly "The Greatest" music video parody. :lol

Mike McDonald should be a guest character on 'House' since he looks so much like Hugh Laurie. He can be a stand up comic who gets sick or something and him and House could do some banter about looking alike, would be funny. :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw2nkoGLhrE - thats got to be one of my all time favorites, along with the Saprono's on PAX skit.

The show wasnt really horrible, but with the new direction it went last year, and especially with the last funny person on the show leaving(Michael McDonald, a few are still pretty funny though), it really went to shit. I was actually able to watch the show, but now, ugh, horrid.

Haha, I was surprised to learn the other week that this show was still on the air. And now it's canceled.

Oh well. That show was fucking awful anyways.

I liked mad tv... not gonna be missing it though. Liked the older stuff.

Will Sasso was so awesome.
Aries Spears is hilarious. Aries as R Kelly

I think he also did a good Bobbie Brown.

And yes, Jimmy Fallon is the worst thing to ever be on a sketch comedy program. Damn them choosing him to take over Conan's timeslot!

The best ever, which I can't find on YouTube, is:

Aries Spears playing James Brown on crack!

He does a lot of good impressions period.

Not to harp on it but he and Debra Wilson could actually do funny black characters unlike Maya Rudolph and Kenan Thompson
The guy is talented. Period.

But, as was mentioned earlier, it's just sad that talented former MadTV cast members didn't go on to successful careers like some of the SNL alumni (which are often undeserving of success in the first place).

Yet The Simpsons still stands. Another smart decision by Fox.
About the Simpsons...

Now, I could have SWORN that the show was supposed to be over after the movie came out. What happened to that plan?

There were some great sketches. I really enjoyed watching Michael McDonald and any sketch that paired up Bobby Lee and Ike Barinholtz. Josh Meyers never really got good material and didn't really seem capable of really nailing any sketch.

Will Sasso was a favorite of mine as well. Those Kenny Rodgers sketches were ridiculously funny IMO. I was watching an episode earlier today. I just hope that this means Comedy Central will start airing newer episodes. They may not be as good but I'm willing to give them a chance.

I always liked the Oprah/Dr. Phil skits where everybody kissed Oprah's ass. There was one where Oprah turned into a demon and started killing everybody in the audience when somebody disagreed with her. Funny Stuff. :lol

He'll get canceled quicker than it took him to break out of character in his SNL skits.
