This may be one of the last few elections where someone can get away with it but I still believe it is true. It is not a sustainable election strategy going forward, but they simply need to win now.


I can see this happening. I'm not betting that it will. But I'm saying I can see it.

The only way I could see Trump winning is if Republicans were able to suppress minority votes using their usual tactics. In addition make voters apathetic towards Hillary. He is trying to make sure that voters either vote for him or won't vote for either of them. White and/or young people in particular would be more susceptible to just not voting. I don't think Trump win but as you said I could see it.

Obviously on a policy level this is evil. But on a writing level, this speech is just incredibly disjointed. Every segue is messy when it's present at all, but most of the time it just jumps from idea to idea.

I disagree with the opinion of being a stream of consciousness. The rambling is deeply premeditated and there are some pretty powerful lines that should resonate with the working class. Of course the aggregate is a load of manure and Trump remains as insincere and venal as always, but it is not a bad speech at all. It definitely caters a certain public and it caters them well.

I'm honestly kind of disturbed. It'll be interesting to see if Trump can deliver it. It certainly is an unusual speech for him in terms of form and cadence.

Yeah. After reading it, there are a few pretty powerful parts. Sounds pretty terrifying at times too.

The line about religions and tax-exempt status regarding their political associations is particularly disturbing to me. If he stays on script with this, it's probably one of the darkest and most troubling speeches given by a major Presidential candidate of the past thirty years.

Of course Republicans will spin it as a win because he stayed on script and it features language that caters to their ridiculously overcompensating masculinity, but this is just straight up horrific for a Presidential nominee to be saying.

Once again, proof is in the pudding: You need to be a disgusting, bigoted moron to vote Trump, and so if you say you support Trump, you are automatically removed from the ability to be associated with people with any intellect. And you reveal yourself to be the petty infantile freaks you are. Come out of the darkness, Trump supporters. Claim your man. The rest of us need to know where the lines are drawn.
