Fun character guessing game

I have no idea how the hell it guessed mine:

Younha.

I answered super vague questions the only specific ones being that its a female and she has short hair and has long hair (partially)

Wow WHAT? I am floored. I picked Omar Little from the wire and it got it in like 20 questions. WTF

Damn I picked Johnny Chase from entourage for my second one and it found it too. Im impressed haha
 
How he's guessing the really unknown characters is not that hard to grasp. If you wait after he's gotten something wrong he'll ask you to type in the name of the person you were guessing. Then he uses that answer the next time someone guesses in the same pattern. So he exists on the knowledge of the all people that stump him.

The beauty of it, Foxix, is Akinator's ability to learn. Akinator will continue learning until he will be impossible to beat, you'll see.

Unlikely. Once you get beyond a certain number of characters, it becomes more difficult to distinguish between them within twenty questions. You've also got the problem of internet asshats who like to break things trying to feed it bogus data.

Edit 2: It got Faith from Mirror's Edge. GAF has definitely made this damn genie smarter.

In my previous post, the ones I listed were his "Guesses" and how many questions it took to arrive there. He went to ~40 questions on mine until (I'm guessing) he ran out of comparisons to match against, and ran out of characters matching what I'd answered.

I'm also not sure I like the idea of that site having loaded banners, as someone said a page ago. Thankfully, I went there on my work Mac, so didn't get any... souvenirs...
 
He's gotten Magus, Buckethead, Jesus Christ (even with my agnostified answers), Donnie Darko, and even freaking Daenarys, a character I can't even spell.

Marquis de Sade. Get it out of my head.
 
Sweet zombie jesus, it correctly guessed Harold the Ghoul from Fallout 1/2 with seemingly nothing helpful. I'm impressed.
 
How the fuckkkkk did it know about Gambit? I mean...honestly? Fucking Gambit? I was sure Cyclops was going to pop up...wooooooowwww.

Double Edit: JAIME FUCKING LANNISTER AFTER LIKE 10 QUESTIONSSS WTTTTF MOST OBSCURE CHARACTER EVER....didn't even ask me if my character was from a book series!!!
 
It failed to guess Ham from Toy Story, although it was close with Spider-Pig from the Simpsons Movie. Wasn't even in the runner-up list.
 
Awesome, he guessed my Ash from Evil Dead.

/edit: hmm, didn't get my second one: Lloyd Kaufman. He thought I was thinking of Mel Brooks (they do have similarities, they even kinda look alike)

Does everyone else get it where they're sure they've fooled it, it's asking questions that don't relate to your character at all then it springs the right answer on you?

It got vinco noir from adult male in a tv series who had sorta been in space and wasn't a brazilian/israeli/amercan scientist or something.
 
I swear to God this thing reads your fucking mind. I did Vamp from MGS4 and all he asked that correlated at all is if he had black hair and was in a video game and he STILL got it.

Doesn't seem to up on his Asian famous people knowledge. He did get Boo from the Mario games though.

And 'Probably partially' for everything got me...

Also doesn't seem to be familiar with children's characters. I picked 2-3 random characters from PBS cartoons, and he didn't get any of them.

The game's characters are populated by the users of the game. If a character isn't found, they enter the name and it uses those intial choices that user picked for future guesses. So video game/anime characters are going to be found plenty.

If you want to fool the thing, pick characters that game/internet nerds wouldn't be familiar with.

:lol Not quite sure how it came to that either. I was just thinking of what sort of qualities I like in women, nothing unrealistic either and the answers were pretty ambitious.

I thought of GOB, and it guessed Michael Bluth. That's pretty damn close.

EDIT: No effin' way! It guessed Raskolnikov from Crime and Punishment!
 
I beat him by thinking of Ed from Shaun of the Dead, but oddly enough he was in the list of possibles afterwards.

Crazy.
 
I'm addicted to feeding it famous literary characters. Poor bastard is floundering on a diet of video game and anime characters.
 
this shit is ridiculous!

It guessed Lenny from Of Mice and Men and all the answers I gave were about him being a man, white, american, in a book, and has killed humans

How the hell did it figure out Lenny when there are so many characters in novels that fit those traits?
