The game had a huge issue, which you can claim is created by the playerbase, but the game didn't do too much to prevent it.

I didn't stick with it forever, but I had my fun with Shattered Horizon. Pretty cool game.

Honestly, though? I couldn't get into Freespace 2 the last time I tried it out.

That's what they did with their last game... and they failed. I need singleplayer so that when the community disappears after the first week I do have something to play.

If it is MP only I won't be buying it. If a SP campaign is detailed and worth my time I will probably buy it day one to support the genre. No interest in MP for me. My life can't currently fit in dedicated MP gaming.

Also not everyone will like Freespace guys, everyone has their types of games they enjoy. Just like some people don't like Football Manager or Angry Birds. I do feel sorry that they can't enjoy one of the best games of all time though. Hopefully when Volition do Freespace 3 they will get hooked.

....even though I would much rather have had a single-player game. I'm so tired of vs multiplayer.

I disagree there. Completely.

They should focus 100% of their time on the MP. Don't half ass the MP to tack on some lame Sp campaign, that you know would be shit.

Make the MP deep and varied. Make it scale well. Players will come.

Ok, I'll set my self up as a target. I played Shattered Horizon during beta for a few hours. And then I bought it and played it for a few hours more. I never went back to it. Feel free to be angry at me.

But I'll probably do the same thing with this space flight sim/shooter. At least I'll buy it I guess.

Read a few posts and wanted to post the same thing.

Shattered Horizon is a fucking great game and deserved so much more recognition and respect than it got or gets. :/
Looking forward to see what else futurmark can achieve.

It's a damn shame and I was part of the problem I was still on XP when the game came out so I couldn't play it until I got a new computer a few months later and by then the game was already abandoned.

Same boat. Although it was because I just hadn't upgraded from XP yet (because I only had a DX9 card).

That video looks much better than Shattered Horizons. Hard to say from the graphics POV, but Space Ship Combat >>>> Dude on a jet pack. Definitely interested this time.

i gave the vp of futuremark a high five and handshake after winning 1st place in a shattered horizon tournament last year. i did my part to play the game. we only won because no one else plays it

whatever the fuck they make i will buy, even an iOS game
