alright guys, let's just keep the pictures under 800 pixels so that things can run smoothly.

Good idea, but may I request that you guys offer links to your flickr accounts when applicable? I love so much of the work posted and always like to have larger quality versions of the pics if possible.

Is the color in this off to anyone else or does it look fine? I've been shooting in RAW and I feel like I've been struggling for a while now with colors and I'm never happy with the results. I'm so used to B&W and knew precisely what I was doing in the dark room with my film and prints. I feel like I have no ****ing clue half the time with this other stuff.

These are from my euro trip, already posted in my euro trip photos thread. I took them with my little Canon S200 Digital Elph camera, so they're nothing that special...

Nice stuff so far, guys.

Slightly off topic: Hope you enjoyed your trip, demon. I see you went to Greece. How didja like it? Where'd you go, and where else did you visit on the trip?

Looks to have a slight blue tinge on my monitor. Nice photo though.

I'll try and get some stuff up tonight.

That second photo does it for me Futureman, great stuff.

Look what I found the other day:

It belonged to my dad, I might see if I can get some shots with it when I get the chance.

Thought so as well but wasn't quite sure. Thanks. Guess I have to work further on color balance. Looking at a color wheel, I notice that cyan, blue and magenta are next to each other. The RAW images I've been working start out very bluish/purplish and I must not be compensating for that enough with R/Y, warm tone, etc.

All the photos I just posted except for the lamp one were taken with a Canon A1. Belonged to my dad as well.

Coincidence, I THINK NOT. :lol

This is what I'm wearing next week for a wedding in other news.

Futureman what batteries does the A-1 use? I need to find one.

Add "hi" to the end of any file name for a higher resolution version (for example, whatuphi.jpg).

I kid you not, by the time I saw the seats shot I KNEW it was an AE-1.

Those are beauty! I love what the AE-1 does to photos; I can't explain it, but it renders the pics a certain interesting way.

The reds are to fricken die for.

Yeah, a few of those pictures are from Athens, and the next few are from Crete. Aside form the Acropylis, Athens, sucked. I should've taken GAF's advice on that one. Crete was pretty cool though.....not quite what I expected, but driving around by myself for a week and a half was quite an interesting and memorable experience.

I went to Italy (Florence, Cinque Terre, Rome) before Greece, and Amsterdam and then Edinburgh, Scotland afterwards. Didn't post any Amsterdam pics.

The last few pics are at some really big hill (mountain?) in some town east of Edinburgh, and that last pic is probably my favorite from the whole trip, which is funny because the trip to Scotland was very last minute, and I went to that town on the last day of my trip which wouldn't have even happened if I hadn't missed my flight (which didn't cost me anything extra thankfully). So what could've been a really stressful and boring day gave me perhaps the most peaceful and serene experience of the whole trip, which I think that last pic captures really well. It wasn't quite that dark, though. I wish I had brought my better camera. :(

Warm it up a bit using the White Balance and Tint sliders in your RAW processing app!

From my time in Florida...taken with a G5. I need a DSLR!

Good stuff as usual Phantomile, I especially like the dynamic pose and lighting in the third shot from your initial post. I think I'd like to have seen her ankles/feet though.

I'm seriously going to give shooting film a shot once I've got a set of batteries and some film though. I'm not entirely sure where to buy film these days, probably to the annoyance of film afficionados. :lol

Cool... is this the 50mm 1.8 you got? How are you liking it?
new girlfriend aside, this lens is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

im trying to schedule everything as we speak, but im sooooo on the verge of completely grabbing night time fashion by the balls.

I need a camra, any good recommendations? I'm looking for something good under $300.

If I had a good cam these would look a lot more nice. :(

Do you have any secrets for focusing at f1.8 and lower? I have major trouble getting the DOF where I want it with aperture sizes that large.

i dunno if i'd have any tips. when in auto focus, i still have a little trouble since it can be too dark at times, the lens just has no idea what to do.

and when in manual, well, its a bit tough considering what the lighting condition can be. im still coming to grip with the lens, but i think ive just about got it. when i go out tonight, im sure everything will finally click.

another thing i've quickly noticed about the lens (or maybe shooting at f/1.8) is that well, all you can really do is focus on one thing no matter what, so you really have to go with that when shooting.

I've been really swamped with work and stuff and been unable to shoot a great deal. As usual lovely stuff Phant & Futureman (I love, love the shot of lamp)

Here's one from the other day near Victoria

I've also finally got a Flickr account, so if you like please find me here

I've probably only taken one shot in the past month, not sure what has happened to my photography drive. I guess I alternate between photography and gaming.

I took this for the rllmuk 'Food' photo comp, I scored 1 point and came almost last (but it didn't deserve much more!).

If this thread improves like the last one did, then we are in for one hell of a thread!

Whats the normal procedure shooting at night? I got some shots of Southbank last few days but it's very hard to get an unblurry shot without a tripod, any alternatives, or is it pretty much tripod only?

I'll get the shots up shortly.
