Theme: Adventure

Submissions are due by Monday, July 11th at 11:59 PM EDT.

Voting begins Tuesday July 12th at 12:00 AM EDT and ends Wednesday July 13th at 11:59 PM EDT.

1) The theme can be interpreted as you see fit, but keep in mind others will be judging based on whatever criteria they see fit.

2) Only one photo per person, per assignment.
-- Photos must be taken during the assignment period.
-- Only photos to be posted in this thread are to be submissions.
-- You can change your submission by editing your post.
-- To avoid cluttering up the thread, please avoid quoting images.
-- Photos should be no larger than 800 pixels on the long edge.

3) One vote for your first choice (3 points) and one vote for your runner-up (1 point), which can be based on any criteria you see fit. You cannot vote for your own submission. Non-participants are also welcome to vote. Criticism/comments encouraged.

4) The "winner" should come up with a new theme/time period. Ties are broken first by the number of first choice votes, then by longest time since last win/thread start, then by longest amount of time participating in assignment threads.

Interesting idea, but it's tough. It's not candid, it's not contemplative, it seems like it has to be set up a bit more than usual. I really look forward to seeing what people will do.

I took a photo for this. Edited for about 2 hours. Photoshop crashed and i never saved. If the contest ended tomoorw Id be set, but I wont be home till the afternoon to finish what I had started so annoyed that I couldnt get it done in time.

Since there wasn't many submissions this assignment I was wondering if it would be okay to submit one last entry a bit after the deadline? The photo was taken on Sunday, so the actual picture would be still be close to the rules.

This. I had taken one while on vacation and didnt get home until Sunday. It's below. I sure hope it counts. Took me hours to finish and I took it just for this contest lol. Damn photoshop died when I was editing and I hadn't saved after close to two hours of work on it yesterday. Started over and just finished it now.

It's my girlfriend at a Cliffwalk in Rhode Island. Loved the scene, told her to make an epic adventure pose for me hah. Though about shopping her to make her look like an adventurer (tattered clothes ect, still might) just no time for that.

Had a tough time with this. I first had to narrow it down based on the theme. The theme makes it interesting, balancing judging it on both that and the photographic integrity. With that said I have made my choices. I decided on my two favorite photos and went with the one that most evokes a sense of adventure.

Thanks, everyone! This is so awesome! I realize that it might not mean much to some but it means a lot to me. It definitely boosted my confidence which I was in desperate need of. So thanks, I really appreciate it. Now that I got my Oscar speech out of the way.

I have so many ideas that I would love to see for a new theme but I'm afraid that my ideas are ones that might not get many submissions. In the end I chose something that I hope everyone will be able to participate in.
