Hey, I'm looking to play an action RPG. I dont like turn based RPGs as my ADD causes me to get distracted easily and I lose interest. I'm looking for something along the lines of Zelda or Dark Cloud 2. I've already played both KOTORs so those are out of the question. Please, suggest away! Oh yeah, I have an xbox, ps2, gamecube and a PC new enough to run pretty much anything. Thanks guys and gals!

I <3 this game.

Anachronox (turn-based-ish but great characters, good story and decent combat), Gothic II (the controls aren't as bad as you might have heard, excellent game otherwise), maaaybe Jade Empire (good combat but Bioware games are beginning to get predictable, and dare I say, a bit repetitive).

RF Online seems to be a good choice, if you're into that MMORPG stuff. I've been playing the European beta and I must say it's quite good.

Jade Empire for the Xbox would also be a great choice. Just as .hack would be for the PlayStation 2.

"Hot stuff, coming your way!"
"Hot stuff, coming your way!"
"Hot stuff, coming your way!"
"Hot stuff, coming your way!"
"Hot stuff, coming your way!"
"Hot stuff, coming your way!"
"Hot stuff, coming your way!"
"Hot stuff, coming your way!"

Now, if you can handle the most annoying female voice ever in a videogame incessantly screaming the above phrase in battle every time you cast her spell, then RUSH out and buy Shining Force Neo.

Otherwise, turn the volume off, completely, since you can't adjust voice volume in the game at all.

Ugh, I swear that ruined the entire game for me.

Kingdom Hearts, you silly goose

;)

(or wait for KH2)

Ok, just for you, I am going to beat KH. I swear to God I will beat it!

The Dark Alliance and Norrath ARPGs aren't bad, especially given that they're dirt cheap now. If those aren't your cup of tea, Gothic 2 on the PC is fun, though the controls take some getting used too, and of course there's Morrowind too.

Try Tales of Enternia for PSP, advantage over anything else, you can play it in the bathroom. :D

Although more than 2 hours a day that nub will take your thumb off.

Zelda style: Ys Ark of Naphistim, Alundra.

Diablo style: Champions of Norrath, Dark Alliance, Dark Alliance 2, Return to Arms

Hybrid style: Dark Cloud 2

Your life: is now alot better.

Ys Series

You can probably get Ys: The ark of napisithim for the PS2 in the NA. I would import Ys: 1 and 2 Complete (you can download the english translation), Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys: VI The ark of Napishtim.

Best ARPG ever in my opinion, esepcially if you like good music.

Diablo II
Diablo II - Lord of Destruction (Expansion Pack)

fuck what everyone else says, these are the BEST action RPGs ever made. Play online or better yet, with four or more friends

Idots suggesting Dark Cloud 2: did you even read the first post?

Listen, Dark Cloud 2 have to be mentionned and typed here as much as possible. Kind of a subtle brainwashing plan we psycho fans of the game are taking part of.
But don't tell anyone. And let's pray for Dark Cloud 3 ;)

Why people continue make some correlation between CoN and Diablo? CoN is nothing like Diablo. Not only that, but its 10x better than Diablo hoped to ever be.

and for the record

Common man, what's the mother game of CoN? F1 Challenge?
You may prefer CoN or Diablo but those are in the same family. Same genre of games and very similar. Or maybe you're the no-genres type of guy and each game is having is own genre. I have friends that are like that about music. They can see to decipher similarities.

Oblivion!

BTW, I don't really see how Zelda is an RPG. I'd rather not start a debate on what constitutes a role-playing game, but I'm sure stats play a role in there somewhere; something Zelda (disregarding Zelda II) lacks.

Dual Hearts was pretty cool. It wasn't great but it was solid and had some memorable levels. I liked some of the mechanics and abilities.
