Yeah, no need to rush it. I'd rather wait half a day or so befre someone gets no present because of a adress mixup.

But really, thank you very much for doing this. Must be a lot of work.
 
No problem, I'm sending them out in batches (so don't worry if you don't have yours yet) with little breaks in between.

I really REALLY hope I didn't mess up somewhere :lol .

A question...

How secret is a secret santa? I mean, when I send the lucky GAFfer the gift, do I put in "PM Why would you do that? when you get the package"? In other words, is the Secret Santa revealed before or after the gift is opened?

Yeah. I'm new to this, I guess. :lol Don't worry, though. I'll get the package out, though.

Wait until after they've opened it. In the past we just addressed the cards "From Secret Santa #__," and then you can reveal yourself after Christmas when it's been opened.

I'm thinking of getting my person a game, I guess there's no way of knowing if they have it already or not without asking, though. They haven't posted about the game so I think its safe to say he/she doesn't have it.

The post was kind of incredibly vague, but one thing did stand out. I immediately thought of an awesome gift idea. Then, I made some phone calls to a few local shops to gauge the possibility and I found myself squarely in the $100+ range!

Unfortunately, I'm not in the financial position to spread that much joy. :lol

Thankfully, their post history does give me somewhere to start my Plan B. Fun! :D

Less thoughtful? Maybe. But easier and realistic. I've had things shipped directly to people without passing through my hands first.

I don't think there is a problem with it. Amazon gift wrapping is better than no wrapping! Plus it cuts down on packaging and shipping costs.
 
I only exist on two boards, and at the other I use my real name. Plus 'allegate' is apparently Italian for 'enclosed' (didn't know it when I made it up back in 1995). as for the website:

Last year we sent PM's via the thread manager to the other person so maybe that can be an option again this year? I know I'm difficult. As I've mentioned before it's hard for me to ask for something specific...just ask my wife: She hates when it's time to get me a present (birthday, Christmas, etc).
 
Got mine. I already had a few gift ideas lined up, only to find that all of them are unsuitable for my fellow. For the mo i have no specific idea on what to gift to my Gaf comrade, though i'm sure a good shoping trip will turn something up.
 
I received mine. I must admit what they would like is a little vague, so I have the freedom to pretty much give them whatever I think they'd like.
 
I like getting people things they want, so if you make a list of things (within the limits of our price range) you'll get something off of it.

So, when we send it out, we don't use our name on the package, just 'Secret Santa #'? The post services won't give me hassle will they? I don't want them to think I am some crazy person. :lol

Ah, easy solution. Just PM Emenis and ask him to ask your secret santa for you.

Can you message your tiny tim in this game? I mean, sure it might give away certain surprises, it would definitely give away the secrecy of the gifter, probably negating the whole point...but hmmmm I wonder if it would be worth it in some cases.

I literally don't have a clue what to give to my tiny tim!! Not even after post stalking :lol
 
My Tiny Tim is somewhat... different to me in a lot of ways, and some of the things he's asking for are either hard to get or expensive to ship. I'll have to think about this one.
 
If you guys want me to ask them something for you or for them to put more detail in their post just pm me.

just got bacl from post office he said its going to cost to ship.... £45! o.0 :lol im sure it would be cheaper to ship to the moon.
 
Post stalking dif bring up some vague ideas but nothing amazing yet. I'll keep thinking about it, I'm sure I will find something nice :)

Ordered one item for my person :D

The website says delivery can take up to 28 days, but is usually "well within" this. Hopefully it is, i wanted to get it all shipped in the next week or two!

Just a couple of other smaller things to pick up now :)
 
I already ordered the more generic part of the gift, now i have to go to some shops to get the more personalized item and the one with the local flavour :D Sadly, i'm down with a bad cold, but i hope to finish shopping this weekend so i can ship early next week. It's fun, as always!
 
Ordered part one of my gift. I will be going shopping early next week for the other part and hopefully I can send it all out by the end of next week. It should have plenty of time to arrive before christmas.

Just wanted to say to my SS and tiny tim, I know I haven't posted much the past two weeks or so(my internet has been out). But don't worry about it, I will still be here whenever I can.
