You're giving STEAM your username and password. Steamgifts.com just checks to make sure you logged in with a valid account, it seems.

And I can second that you're not giving Steamgifts your username and password: if you're logged into Steam first, when you go to Steamgifts.com it doesn't ask for user/pass.

Yeah, it logs in straight to Steam, similar to how Facebook and Twitter do that when logging into third-party websites as verification and doesn't store anything.

After fully digesting how things work at Steamgifts it seems to be worthwhile as place where you give away games rather than win them. And don't expect to win say a brand new gift copy of say the Witcher 2 and even if someone is generous enough to enter that into a contest I think the odds of winning are slim and moreover you lose the points regardless of you if you lose.

I actually think GAF freebies threads and such is a better endeavor. Still I will be putting up a game or two.
