So is P. T a demo for an upcoming silent Hill?
Yes, being made by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro.

I can understand where your coming from but the game offsets any frustration with the puzzles by having such excellent audio design. Not only does it create a feeling of constant tension but a lot of the time it helps direct you on what you need to do next. The Visuals + amazing Sound grounded me into the game more than anything I have played before. The random nature of the ghosts appearances just kept me on edge the whole time as well.
P.T. reactions.

They were very fake... or more like Konami hired some actors who were overreacting for the moneyz. I sure made some noise when Lisa jumped me in the game but I don't understand how anyone could act like those in the Konami trailer for real.
I think the most scary thing in the game is probably this though:

Best part was watching some hilarious streams. There was a thread about it on GAF I think.
I wish they would stop using this erratic movement of the head/body thing for a change. It was scary the first time we saw it 15 years ago.
Oh, English is not my native language and in my country this word means many things so ok.I'd probably change one of the words in that.

The fuck is "P.T."?

The thing is though, is that it will constantly work, because it's un-natural. Seeing the human body deformed and erratic is both relate-able and unsettling.
It's definitely overdone, but like the poster above mentioned, when done well I have no problems with it.
Oh and I definitely agree with you Demons/Dark Souls have some horridly terrifying moments lol. I remember being completely unsettled in the tower of Latria in Demons Souls.
Yeah, something like that. You explained it better than i could.I agree that it will work because it's unnatural and it does make Lisa creepy when she stalks you in the hallway, but with that said, if you recognize it as a cliche then it does actually kind of fail, because the point of these things is that they shouldn't be recognizable. They should make you go "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!?" and not "Oh she's making sounds from The Grudge and twiching like X other character"
Minecraft.
That first night is nothing short of terrifying.
This. A lot of those ghosts scare me to shits. The long armed lady (or guy?), the girl whos head snapped back so far that fell off the roof, the ghost w just the head, the blinded woman. So many scary ghosts.. I couldn't play even w friends watching.Fatal Frame

OK i watched the PT demo on youtube. Was the guy playing it wrong or was he just walking around the same room over and over - a few things happened but is the demo only on that one floor and nothing really happens?

ha, no
game works off triggers, a lot of people get to the first encounter and stop there thinking the game is over
nah, there is much ... much more, and much worse, stuff after that
but yeah it takes place in that single circular hallway
saw the tall woman thing and a baby in a sink - then the guy got caught and died and it restarted back in the room from the beginning - is that it?
