I'm 23; and I cant grow a full beard, it's fine at the front but the sides are worse then fuzz (however its improving slowly every year). Everyone around me seems to be able to get a fully grown sexy beard but me? Nope.

Is there anyway I could speed up the process? At what age where you able to grow a full sexy beard?

Genetics mostly. Shave a lot and it might speed up the process of getting a thicker fuller beard down the road. But, if you have spots missing, then they will stay that way most likely.

Yeah got no problem with soul patch, but I remember shaving my front just for fun when I was little so maybe that has something to do it with.

So perhaps shaving my sides twice a day would do it.

Everyone in my family was able to fully grow a beard, so I guess it will take some time for me.

Don't give up hope OP, I had the same problems when I was in my 20's and by the time I hit 35 or so I looked like a grizzly bear if I stopped shaving for a week. It may still fill in.

I was able to grow a good beard in my late 20s . Beards look cool, but as I walk home tonight from the metro ( DC ) I will probably see 10 guys with bushy Beards and a high and tight. Feels like one of those things in danger of being played out quick by virtue of sheer numbers.

Has anyone did research about the genetics of beards? I've been wondering why I've only seen white folks with long ass santa claus beards that you can braid and throw over your shoulder.

I see black people with semi-long beards, but not nearly as long as the ones I see on white dudes. I was wondering if full beards is a dominant trait and perhaps why you tend to see black folks with fuller beards in the US vs Africa is because of the genes that were passed on to the slaves by their white owners.

I don't see Asians with long beards either or even semi-long, except for old martial arts movies. I don't really see them on indigenous latinos either.

I did try to research this one time, but couldn't find much.

OP, I couldn't grow a full beard until I was 25 or 26. Before that I could do a goatee no problem and some full face coverage, but too patchy to wear. I'm still not happy with my cheek-line. It's something that comes with time.

My beard grows too damn fast. I was cursed with a manly beard when I was only 12. Everybody my age thought I was like 3-5 years older and stayed back many years. Now I have a thick goatee. I shave once a month (I don't shave my goatee, only ever trim it, if its messy). My face hair is naturally multicolored too.
