GAF's favorite gaming soundtracks?

Another soundtrack that I have really gotten into lately is the one for F-Zero GX. Dr. Stewart's Theme, in particular, is incredible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCBY4oF8vuc&fmt=18

After reading over the thread again, I'm going to take some time later on to check out the soundtracks for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Katamari Damacy, as they really got a lot of love here.

I posted about this in the OT forum but I just got the Star Fox SNES OST and have been looping the tracks for past few days, the tunes get stuck in my head...even when I am at work. Nostalgia works.

No comparison.

Halo 1,2,3, ODST (no one comes close to Marty in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls Oblivion
Braid (fantastic choice of songs)
Bioshock (atmospheric accompaniment at its best)
Mass Effect (epic music but not at a Halo level)
Fifa Series (I know it shouldn't really count, but most of them have some delightful tunes)

Any of the Final Fantasy piano collections
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Saga Frontier II (bolded for truth)
Xenosaga Ep. I & III
Chrono Cross
Tales of Legendia
Xenogears

I terms of recent releases, I found the Bayonetta soundtrack to be incredible and extremely unique. The work in the Kingdom Hearts series is always excellent, from the Utada theme songs to the epic arrangements of Disney classics. Classic FF is always hard to pass over as well, with FFVI's Dancing Mad remaining my favourite boss theme to this day.

Final Fantasy VII. Lots of great FF soundtracks - V, IX, X, even VIII, though I don't like the game. But VII's is the best.
Chrono Trigger. Classic.
Assassin's Creed II. A recent soundtrack, but an instant favorite. Gorgeous.

Seeing these threads makes me wish more current and classic soundtracks would be offered on iTunes for download. =(

I have to give a shout out to Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines here. Incredible atmosphere with an incredible soundtrack.
If I'd give a shoutout to a Troika game it would be Arcanum for the period music, it didn't work too well at all times sadly. Bloodlines is good though, but maybe a bit too "moody" to stand out.

Homeworld

Oh yes.

Best use of Agnus Dei/Adagio for Strings that I've experienced. The battle music is amazing as well.

I would add the Homeworld 2 soundtrack, and Cataclysm is good, but the others are amazing.
