I think I'm going to invest in a stylus.

Uhmm. I know one is a resistive touch screen while the other's capacitive, but other than that do you guys think I'd scratch the screen using a 3DS (NOT the DS one eith hard rubber!) stylus?

The 3DS stylus doesn't work on any iDevice.

Looks like Mik is gonna win this one lol
Hey you never know. Less than 24 hours ago Pyromaniac, Dash and me were around the 1.3 or so million mark, with Dash being first at 1.5mil. Then I reached 1.8mil and Pyromaniac reached 3mil a couple hours later. I wouldn't be surprised if someone all of a sudden showed up with like 10mil...

Oh wow the score I got while playing it the first time half asleep at 2am is recorded LOL

I will come back with a vengeance as soon as I have time to play it

And I'm playing on a device (3rd generation Touch) that has a lot of framerate issues which always make me miss a ball near the end of the 3rd round. Arghh..

But really, there's some people with 7mil and one guy with like close to 21mil I think (WTF?). So 6mil is definitely doable if you play a couple rounds and get used to it.

21 mil is doable. You'd just need to play a ton and memorize it all.

I think I could easily beat 6 million but problem is I have almost no time to play this week.

Gah, iPad is just too damn big for touch controls. Plus my fingers start to 'stick' to the screen so I have to keep swapping fingers, which makes the bat jump about. What i'd give for a nice potentiometer..

Sounds like a bad excuse to me :P

If you have 15 minutes or so you should be able to beat it.

omg, I don't think I'll be able to participate in this one. The following days are looking a bit too crazy for me.

That angry birds plushie is such a cool prize too. :<

I wish y'all the best of luck though!

I really hated this game in the beginning. Then I realized there were touch controls. Using tilt was horrible.

So now I'm starting to enjoy it. Where's everyong placing their finger? Left side?

played 2 games today, got 5.8 mil in one of them ;)

Like I said, I genuinely am not being arrogant, I sincerely think I could beat it if I had the time, I'm hoping I can finish up a lot of stuff and free up some spare time for it. Maybe a few times before bed if I'm not dead tired.

I also played only one game after I saw your record and I was able to beat it with the 6mil score. I only played once after that too, because I'm busy preparing my job interview this Tuesday. I believe mine can be beaten very easily. Even I can beat it, but my iPod Touch goes into the 1-digit framerates near the end of the third round (I think) and it always makes me miss a block.

I'd rather have you beat my record (or anyone else) so I get more motivation to improve mine :)

I know it's all in good spirit, just wanted to reiterate that Pyro told me he could probably only play the game the firat two days of the challenge and even asked me to put it up early :)
He's not making shit up, again I know it's all in good spirit between you guys, in fact I encourage the competion ahah :D

Feel a bit bad with the number of people competing waaaay down from the other competitions, I knew it was risky choosing a game with a demo to unlock and also a game with no ipod 2/3/iphone3 compatibilty, but I was forced in picking up a game myself since we weren't going anywhere with the voting/suggestions.
But hey, after all it's also good because it takes me way less time to manage all the Gc stuff ;)
Next time we'll choose a popular game again maybe.

Hey, we're steadily increasing tho! Just noticed we're up to 30 gaffers playing! :)

Btw, DAY 2 results are almost ready, uploading in a few.

Yeah, It's all good between Pyro and me (even though I sent him a GCenter request that he hasn't accepted :(...). I just want him or someone to get past my current points so I have more incentive to play.

Also, I guess for the next game we will need something more popular, huh.. Which is too bad, because this game is pretty damn great :(

Okay I am not usually one that complains about touch controls but this game is a perfect example of a game that drives me crazy..I could swear my hand actually hurts from holding it at a strange angle while trying to play this, and most of the time I miss it's because either I go off the edge or get stuck trying to move the paddle thing.

Anyway, that makes the top scores even more incredible to me! There are some I am missing that I think I could catch with more practice but having a perfect run would be somehow godlike. Just so I am sure, after you beat the boss you should just end the game right? I was not sure if the score is adding together into World 1 (it's not Transition anymore right??)

Yeah, as soon as you finish the boss and you go to the next screen, just end the game.

As for the high scores, it's all about getting a huge chain combo. Which means, don't miss any block/dot at all. Pyro and I are usually able to get through the first three rounds without missing any block. That can take you easily up to the 4mil area. Then as you keep hitting dots, your score goes up like crazy with each one, whereas if you just miss one and your combo counter goes back to zero, you only receive a little bit.

I wonder if that top score on the leaderboard is a perfect run :O

Would the scores be exactly the same in case of two perfect runs?

I'd say so. There's no better or worse way of hitting the blocks. You either hit and get a +1 combo, or you don't. So I'd guess all perfect runs would get the exact same points.

I always lose in spots that I can easily do, that's the annoying part lol. For instance sometimes even if I miss one I'll continue playing just for practice rather than restart right away, and I have no problems from that point on, then I'll restart, go perfect and loss at a point earlier than where I generally lose in.

It's DEFINITELY possible to get a perfect run though, or near perfect. But even one skid if your finger or thumb on the screen, the wrong moisture level or anything can make the thing jump just enough to miss something. You basically need to be 110% IN THE ZONEE to get a near perfect run.

Yup. The challenge in this game is more about endurance and not having your finger slip or the iPod going low-framerate or something like that. Otherwise the whole level could be done on a perfect run without much problems.

Sorry I've missed the Day 3 leaderboards guys, gonna rectifify tomorrow skipping directly to Day4.

Biggest "news" is 31 players total, Tunesmith is now 3rd with more than 5M points and good 'ole numble at 4th with 2M something.

Yeah I went from 1 to 2 to 4 to 5.6 mil in 4 games. Then I had a run up to 1-5 then got a call and well.. the run ended there on 5.53mil.. (argh :D).

More tomorrow!

Well I'm doing my part in making this exciting, lol. I just reached 7 million. I did it while only playing 1 game today, and not only that, it was in the bathroom (told you I'd find spare time to play).

So. Take that!

I have little doubt in my mind that someone will beat it though, probably Mik as well.
I won't be playing this game anymore though (not on my iPod Touch anyway). Can't stand the low framerates that plague the 3rd (the stupid meteorite makes the whole level go into a crawl for me) and 4th levels (the fucking rocks flying everywhere). The worst offender is the 3rd level though, it makes almost impossible to align with the yellow rectangles made by a bunch of small dots.

But even if someone beats you, you only need to go to the bathroom again and beat them ;)

Actually... I just decided to go to the bathroom myself and bring my iPod Touch with me, and seems like we got another high score.

Can't wait for pyro to beat it the next time he takes a dump :P

9mil.

What iTouch model have you got btw?
Didn't notice any slowdown with my friend's Touch 3 64GB? It was silky smooth the whole time, but I can't remember which section we played.
I can just confirm 100% that it's perfect the whole way on Touch 4G and iPad.

Third Gen Touch 64GB (model MC011J). I don't know if it's because I have a lot of stuff on it or what, but as soon as I hit the third part, the framerate takes a huge dip. Tell your friend to let you play and see it by yourself. Trying to align the long rectangles is pretty damn difficult because you need to be quite precise and with that framerate is fairly difficult. Otherwise it's not hard.

Anyway, I will be going back home on the 6th in the evening which I believe would be the 6th in the really early morning, so I'll probably have a couple hours to try my luck with the iPad (1st gen).

Edit: Wops, just noticed when I get back home the challenge will be over. Aww.. And now seriously, I got an interview tomorrow so I won't have much time to play. Then the next day I'll spend most of the day in the airport and flying (from Singapore to Japan) so I won't be able to submit anything.

I'll have you beat in no time, playing blindfolded, while walking to the grocery store!

Hahaha :P

Oh btw you're at like 5mil something right now, right? You could go over 9mil pretty easily, as would pyro. I just hope you guys don't :P Because seriously, playing this game on my iPod Touch makes me want to destroy the thing.

Can't wait to get the next iPhone when it gets announced. It will be my first iPhone, too.

I've had 3 sessions now around 5.6 million.

I can perfect up to 1-5 quite easily but I still hate 1-3 with a passion with it's bloody slow-ass meteor moving across and obscuring the screen.

Bros you don't even know. When you're in the bathroom you're just in this special zone of comfort/relaxation/release. It's the perfect moment for a gaming session, especially for a game like this.

I'm not being lucky with Game Center. Can't seem to make it work my way to shownthe nicknames, but I know the problem is I can't make that bug happen when I'm on wifi.

So I'm just gonna post a little top5... We have a NEW number 1!
